These are amazing sandals. The first time around I ignored the other reviews and just followed the size chart, which was big mistake and the sandals were way too big (surprise, surprise). I usually wear a US women's size 9 in the regular width so I went with size 40M, which I then exchanged for a size 39M. Luckily it was really easy (and free!) to return these with amazon! After returning for a smaller size, I absolutely love them. The colors, the materials, and the style make this one gorgeous and extremely comfortable pair of sandals. These shoes are also very versatile as you can wear them for anything really and they look and feel great. The style even makes them a great sandal for dressier occasions. They are now my go to spring/summer/fall shoes and I have my eye on another pair in the mocha color.I have a thing for comfortable, properly fitting, and supportive shoes. I also believe that shoes can be overly supportive and can cause the muscles in your feet to weaken and work improperly, which leads to all sorts of problems. Which is why I like rotate through and wear different types of shoes (disclaimer: I also just love quality shoes), in addition to spending a decent amount of time barefoot. Doing this not only makes the muscles in my feet adapt and work hard, keeping them strong, but it helps my shoes last a lot longer. With these shoes though, I just want to wear them all day, every day, that's how comfortable they are. Right out of the box they felt great, no adjustment period necessary, and have they become more comfortable every time I wear them. Everyone is different though and if they don't feel great right away I would encourage you not to give up, but to make sure they are the right size and that straps are as tight as they can (reasonably) be. If uncomfortable, wearing them for small time periods at first can help as it allows your feet to adjust. As your feet adjust and the shoe molds to your foot you may just find that these are like nirvana in sandal form!

Love my Birkens, the color is perfect, they fit beautifully-snug at first but loosened just enough. They are very sturdy and durable with great arch support. They are so comfortable I wear them just about daily. Are they worth the price- maybe, that remains to be seen based on the longevity. For not the answer is yes.

My first pair of Birkenstocks! I don't want to take them off. I've tried on other people's (who were my shoe size) but since they mold to your foot, there's nothing like having your own pair to wear in. I loved the mayari style so I was really happy to find them for such a great price, and in the color I wanted! The only thing I was worried about was pain and rubbing around the big toe, where the two straps cross. I don't think it's going to be a problem though. It's the most comfortable shoe I've ever worn! Both the soles and straps are incredibly soft and the sole support feels perfect. I would go bare foot every day if I could, and so I really think this is the next best thing. I feel sad coming home at night cause I have to take them off and put on my fuzzy house slippers! I got the size 39, I typically wear a 9,but can sometimes get away with an 8.5. theres about 1 cm of extra space in the footbed,so I wonder if a 38 would be better next time, however there's no way I'd return these for fit - I'm just so happy with them. ...And a little worried I'm going to develop a very expensive Birkenstock habit!As a side note on the seller/shipper, while the shoes were in perfect condition, the box was in tatters, probably the reason they were selling a bit cheaper? Anyway, it didn't come across as very professional but there was no problem with the actual product.

Love this shoe! My very first pair of Birkenstock's and I could not be happier. Have been told by friends who have similar styles, that they take some time and wear to get them to mold to your feet, but that once they do, the comfort is incredible. Definitely moving in that direction. Some reviewers are unhappy with the straps not being leather. I find the material to be well made and it feels wonderful against the feet. No blisters or rubbing of any kind. The sturdy, adjustable straps easily work with the equally sturdy buckles. Birkenstock has always made a quality shoe and have done so yet again with this Mayari Thong. Ordered a size 8 and they are true to size. Chose the rich, beautiful, stone color, as I prefer a neutral tone to go with many summer outfits. This shoe cradles your feet and provides excellent arch support. Extremely pleased with this purchase and highly recommend this shoe to anyone looking for a supportive, stylish, thong sandal.

My last pair of Birkenstocks lasted me 10 years! Bought some new ones to replace those that were well loved. These are great, cute style and feel just as good. Make sure to break them in before any long walks or trips!I wore them around the house for a few days and they were ready to go.

Cute and comfortable but WAY overpriced. I decided to splurge and buy Birkenstocks because I expected the shoe’s soles to last for many years. I wore the sandals over the summer and the soles have worn down (heel area) much more than I expected . Not sure whether I would buy again.

There's a reason these shoes are so expensive. They rock! I've been wearing them for 2.5 years now and I'd say they have at least that much left in them still. They are SO comfy once you break them in. One thing I would recommend getting also is the Birkenstock care and cleaning kit for 20 bucks so you can keep them clean and in good condition! If you get them wet all the time and leave them in the sun, the cork bottoms tend to wear off and the leather can dry out, so if you are going to wear them all the time, I'd recommend getting the kit which helps moisturize the leather and keep the cork sealed. Great shoes, I'll definitely buy from this brand again when it's time to upgrade. I'm about a 7 and my hubby ordered me a 7.5 and they still fit great. I like the extra looseness.
