We got this for our 6 month old and he still loves them now that he's 1.5 years! The velcro is strong but not too strong and the toy is so cute! A couple of them have the 'baby paper' sound in them, a couple squeak, a couple rattle. Overall awesome!

The first thing I noticed was that this toy was a little smaller than expected. However, I did not find this a problem, and it did not interfere with the enjoyment of it. This toy was given to a small dog for Christmas. He is only 7 lbs, but he likes to chew and sometimes rips his soft toys open. This toy has not had the test of time yet, but it looks and feels extremely durable. I like that the toy has lots of things to grab the toy by, and different parts of the toy make different sensory sounds. Doggy likey.I appreciate that this toy comes in sections, which can be stuck together via the velcro on each section. The kids (ages 2-8) enjoy sticking the caterpillar parts together. When we want to play fetch with the dog, we just keep throwing one section at a time. Great fun. Additionally, if our puppy happens to wreck a part of it, we can simply throw only that part away, and we still have the rest of the caterpillar.Overall, great toy. I hope the quality is worth the price.

This is a very cool toy. The bright fabric designs make it attractive to little ones and it can be played with in lots of ways. The Velcro tabs that hold the sections together are a little hard to pull apart at first but get easier after repeated use.

Not the best toy we have but definitely a good one!I like the fact that it has so many different uses.When baby was a tiny baby, we would just show her the caterpillar because it has so many bright colors and contrasts.Right now, she is 6 months and this is how we use it :- we detach the pieces and let her play with a plastic box with the pieces inside ( I like to put different things in a plastic box such as cubes, balls, etc and pieces of the caterpillar are a nice addition, she loves to empty the box for now)- she likes grabbing and sucking the legs and tagsThen she'll be able to detach the pieces herself and even later, learn colors association.

My daughter absolutely loves this toy! She’s played with it for months! Can wrap her legs around it and hands easily for more play fun! And each ball is a different noise! Very entertaining!

I bought this mix & match caterpillar because read reviews of other Lamaze toys that were machine washable, but the tag says "surface wash only!" It has rattles inside so I wonder if it takes too long to dry when it is submerged it water so it would promote mildew growth, maybe? I'm not sure why else. It is very well made, cute with vibrant colors and the velcro is very strong- almost too strong! My 9 month old daughter had a hard time pulling the pieces apart so she is not as interested in this toy. Only two pieces have the crinkle paper and two have a rattle.
