It's a bun making tool with a ribbon tied to the ends. That's it. The ribbon is looped through the hole that the bun tool has, it's not sewn on or anything. And the way the ribbon is added means the bow always tries to turn sideways which looks awful and is inherent to the design. I'm cutting off the ribbons and using the bun making part which is fine if you have dark hair (it's very dark charcoal grey). Buy a generic bun tool and add a ribbon, it's easier and looks better.

This product is awesome! It's great for when I'm running late for work/school and need something I can do quickly. It looks like I put a lot more time into it than I actually did and I always get compliments on my hair when I wear one.It takes very little effort to perfect it; just pull your hair into a pony tail, flex the foam part open and pull hair through, slide hair through until you near your shortest layer, then just roll it back down to your head,then bend the foam ends inward to prevent hair from falling loose. All that's left is tying the bow! You can reach up and shift the hair to cover the foam if any is still exposed, I have to do this as my hair is still shortest.

I was going to give this a 1 star because this does not work well for little girls or women with thin hair. The ribbons fray easily and they sent the ugliest colors. It is incredibly difficult to make it look good with the black foam showing. (Again I used this on children). However after playing with it for a while I got it to work much better after folding the foam and metal ends in an inch on each side. It stays well because it's metal. Folding it does 3 things: it hides the ugly tag, it makes it easier to use on thinner hair and it makes it so the foam ends don't show. It was an easy enough fix but that doesn't help the cheapness of the ribbons and the colors.The first three pictures was without folding the foam and you can still see the tag and foam and took like 3 tries to get it to look good. The last picture is with folding the foam and it was much easier to use.

Great idea, but the ribbons are glued to the foam and can pull off. Also, the ends of the foam show through your hair. It would be better if the ends were completely wrapped with the ribbon so there would not be black lumps poking through hair. My hair is long, fairly thick , and ash blond.

I have long, extremely thick hair so I was skeptical it would work for me. It really does though! Makes a nice classy bun. Dropped a star because the ribbons feel and look kind of cheap and are a touch too short (makes bows difficult). Also can't choose colors... I got black, red, and pink. I like the red and black but will never wear the pink, would've liked to be able to choose different colors. I'll probably cut the ribbon off that one entirely.

They will send the most useless colors (weird ones that won't match anything). Also, the quality is poor and the design is difficult to use. There are other bun products on the market that are much easier to use. Stick to those and just tie your own ribbon around the bun if you want that look. These are not the answer!

I love these. I have long, thick hair though so the previous reviews are right as to what hair type they work on. I just put my hair in a ponytail holder then this clamp piece on the bottom of my ponytail and roll it it up and tie a bow with the ribbon. Its clean and classy looking. I really do love this item.
