Thanks for the great question. There are 2 things to consider here: 1. Fabric - the shielding fabric is a custom yarn of silver. Our custom shielding fabric can block up to 59dB. To increase the shielding effectiveness beyond that we need to make the fabric thicker which is not suitable for wearable clothing purpose. For your information a very thick concrete wall with steel frames is only equivalent to approx. 35dB. Our shielding fabric provides protection much more than that. 2. Signal strength - in the past we can cut off 3G cell phone signal quite easily using our shielding fabric (we have been providing shielding solution for 5 years). As technology progresses we now have 4G and now 5G, we have found that cell phones now have signal strength much more than 60 dB this means the cell phone still gets the signal. See a video demo attached - a cell phone with 4G signal measures 1,800 mW/m2 drops to below 0.5 mW/m2 Hope this helps.

I doesn't fit an adult head, It is more of a children's sizing. I bought it for my 8-year-old son, and it is oversized, and fits his active lifestyle.

The shielding effect of the fabric is so high that much more radiation comes from the opening of the beanie and by bending of the rather large wavelength waves at the edge of the beanie than through the fabric. More coverage of your head and body could enhance the shielding effect much more. You should try the hood and try to be in environments with lower level of radiation - for which acquiring a RF meter would be beneficial.

We use the same shielding fabric for all our beanies. The shielding efficiency ranges from 18 to 70 dB, depending on the frequency. We have tested our fabric against the IEEE 299:2006. For your info, even at 10 dB SE that is equal to a 90% reduction of wireless energy.
