I am wondering why the sides can't be a little taller to keep the liquid from leaking out.

Generally good product. Is not totally effective with incontinence

When I first "graduated" from pads to panties (wah!) I tried several brands, and settled on Assure. They were comfortable and absorbent, but the leg holes were loose so if I flooded, it just poured out before it could be absorbed.When Depend Silhouette came out, I tried that. The legs were a good fit, and it was pretty absorbent. Since the largest size is L/XL, and I was an XL, it felt sort of like a girdle, but a very gentle one. But when I wanted to extend the use of one by only changing a booster pad (as when travelling), I couldn't find a pad that would fit properly and keep the panty dry.Then I mysteriously got a sample of TENA Overnight in the mail, and fell in love! It's the most absorbent one I've ever tried, the fit is almost perfect (waist is cut a LITTLE low in back, but not enough to bother me), and it almost never leaks, even when I flood it. The leg holes are generous, which SHOULD allow it to leak, but it has flaps that rise up inside the crotch on each side that act like levees, to confine the urine until it can be absorbed--genius!One thing: these are overnights. Don't try to extend the use further by adding a booster pad. When the booster is wet, it swells up and fills the space between the flaps, so you no longer have the "flood protection."
