Amazing Compay
I love Zamori spices and always find their products to be fresh and delicious. I can close my eyes and their spices and Amlou takes me back to Morocco in my mind and heart. I have ordered from them several times and I just want to shout out that they are truly one of the best companies I have ever dealt with. Their deliveries are super fast but it is their customer care that makes them stand out. I love their hand written notes but even better, when something is down, like the postage calculator, I was sent the order anyway with a hand written note saying that since it was an overseas military address, Mary was sending it free of charge as a Thank you for your service. My husband is an Active Duty Marine and it is truly an honor to have received this from Zamori Spices. Thank you Mary, we truly appreciate your sincerity and your genuine kindness. I was a loyal fan before but I am even more so now.

The real thing!
Ras al hanout is great seasoning. Just do a Web search on "how to use ras al hanout" for ideas how to use it.But you have to be careful where you buy it. There's no specific recipe for it--each purveyor blends it according to a private recipe. I saw ras al hanout in my local gourmet store, and their version had just nine ingredients. This one has more than thirty ingredients!Give it a sniff, and you'll be transported to Morocco, and their richly flavored dishes. This is the best ras al hanout I've found, and it's just an Amazon order--just a day or two--away. Use it as a rub for meats that you're cooking, sprinkle it on scrambled eggs--you'll find a lot of uses for it.

Tasty, Authentic Moroccan Spice Blend
I’ve been happy with this Ras El Haunout. It’s the first one I’ve purchased. Maybe there are better ones. Certainly some are cheaper. Adds a nice authentic Moroccan flavor to dishes when I don’t feel like creating my own spice mix. Has over a dozen ingredients. After using this 2 oz. bottle (plastic BTW, would prefer glass) quite a few times still have half the container left.

Fantastic mix of spices
The formula of spices is perfect, I hope they don't change it. The smell of this particular combination is excellent and was fresh when I opened the bottle. I do a lot of grilling and barbecue, and was looking for something new when I came across this particular mix. It did not disappoint.

Product ingredients don't match description
As another reviewer commented, I also received the Ras el Hanout with different ingredients on my bottle than what was advertised here. They advertise "Ingredients from over 30 different herbs and spices include: Grains of Paradise, Lavender, turmeric, ajawan seeds, kalajeera, ginger, galangal, oris root, rose buds, monk's pepper, cinnamon and more!" but that's not what I got. However, the ingredients on my bottle only list "Spices including turmeric and paprika, salt, dehydrated garlic." I wanted a spice with over 30 different herbs and spices in it so I'm not sure if this has over 30 different spices in it or not but they should change this advertisement to reflect the ingredients label of the bottle they ship to you. As for taste, it's quite delicious regardless of what it says on the label.

Delicious version of Ras El Hanout
This wonderful spice blend is great for cooking Moroccan food. I've been using The Food of Morocco by Paula Wolfert and it called for this spice. You can rub it on meats, use it to flavor wonderful-long simmering lamb or beef tagines or put it on couscous.Wolfert says Ras El Hanout can be made from anywhere between 19 and 26 or even more spices. Some are not safe to ingest on their own, so you need to either buy a pre-made blend or use a simpler recipe with safer spices; she offers too options. But I wanted the original, so I bought this! This version tastes very similar to the authentic version I purchased in Casablanca in the medina, but the description says it lacks Spanish Fly beetle powder, which is a supposed aphrodisiac and illegal in the U.S. Bummer. But buying it in Morocco may not get you the beetle either: Some Web reports say it has also been illegal in Morocco since the 1990s. In any case, Zamouri Spices' version tastes like the version I ate in Morocco and is absolutely delicious.

Flavorful
I ordered this product along with Zamouri Spices Harissa powder. After being sorely disappointed by the Zamouri harissa powder, I approached the Ras el hanout with lowered expectations. When I opened the bottle, I noted that the mix isn't very fragrant, and this led me to wonder if it was old and if it therefore would be insipid. When used in cooking, however, the flavors in the mix opened up and worked wonderfully in the tagine that I made. With some such spice blends, one notes that bolder spices like cinnamon and clove overpower everything else. In this however, the stronger flavors work subtly, highlighting the lavender and rose that are also in the mix. As the five stars suggest, the product was better than I assumed, and it fully met my expectations of what a good store-bought Ras el hanout should be.

Not the best, not the worst
Ras al-Hanout more or less, translates to means 'best of the house' or, put another way, it's traditionally a blend of the finest spices a store has to offer. Ras al-Hanout should also be highly aromatic and provide a gentle heat to any dish. It's best used in Tagine dishes but can also be used on almost anything that needs a little lift. I typically use it on chicken as an alternative to paprika for example. So how 'authentic' is this blend? Well, if this is the 'best of their house' I'm likely to pass it by. It's OK, but perhaps because I've sought this spice blend in the Souks of Marrakech, I've been a little spoilt. IMHO, it needs more lift. Adding a touch of ginger helps, but I really need to go back to Morocco and next time, buy a bucketful.
