Worth it
My 7yo absolutely loved this Lego set. My 16yo even got in on the building process... we all like the moving parts, being able to see inside the buildings, Minecraft details, all the figures... a bit expensive, worth it for this set tho.

Awesome set!
This set, while pricey, definitely exceeded my expectations. I love the modular set up which allows so many different looks. Great for display. Also it took me close to five hours to build completely with minor breaks. If you can look past the price this is one of my favorite sets for minecraft.

Liking it...but not quite in love.
It's a big box, so be prepared. It has to be big, for the 1,600 bricks that are in here. But is it a good set?Well, my son is a Minecraft fan and as such fans know, the game is very much like digital LEGO. It therefore made sense for LEGO to get the Minecraft theme going. And indeed, this set does do a decent job of capturing much of the Minecraft spirit, at least as well as a physical product can do for a cyberspace setting.I will say that while the set is large, it doesn't really *do* all that much. I mean, there are interesting building techniques in there, but at the end of the day it's not as interactive as I think it should be at this level. I think the value here is about evenly distributed between the stock building (per the the instructions) but also encouraging the builder to modify or create different villages or incorporate the bricks into other sets. The LEGO veterans out there will recognize that formula as something that ALL LEGO sets should have, but for most of the licensed themes (I'm thinking Star Wars in particular) the value is really heavily tilted toward the stock set. People don't generally get an X-Wing set thinking they're going to make something else with it, at least not in the Vox Populi. In other words, I think this is largely a set of bricks with the Minecraft name on it, and that's pretty much how my son approaches it. It's really aimed toward Minecraft fans (of course), but the actual building isn't much different than, cynical me talking, Lego City or something.Aside from that focus, it's all typical LEGO quality - pieces are well packaged and organized, bricks are bulletproof quality, and so on. The building steps make sense and help enable an efficient building experience. So I like the set on the merits, but what keeps me from loving it are the lack of "Holy Moly" features in it. A good set but not the best LEGO has ever released.

Thank you Minecraft Legos
Really enjoyed being able to find this set since I'm trying to find them as best as I can. It was a really fun build with plenty of options for me to work with. Definitely recommended for any collector or someone just wanting to have a fun weekend ^^

The package came with a big hole. It is supposed to be a Christmas gift and does not look presentable at all.

Lego + Minecraft (should) = Totally Awesome... so why doesn't it?
$200? And lego can't design the roof pieces to run the full length of the houses? They're pieced together and because of that, it collaspes as the pieces are being pressed together! The hinges that allow the houses to open are loose and don't hold the two halves together. The blacksmith shop has an unstable roof too, our 8 year old son stablized that roof himself and I couldn't even tell where he'd added our own pieces - so why can't Lego come up with sturdy designs? I don't love the way the minecraft sets are designed on raised plates that are held together by blocks from the underside because the sets are that much more unstable. The set is cool - both our son and daughter like it, but definitely not worthy the $200 hype that Lego is making it out to be.
