Well, I have the ONLY one of these I've ever seen.
It's a two piece. I wasn't sure if I knew that when I ordered. It's great, it's leather, it's professional and top of the line. But it also won't fit under airline seats unless you detach it from its base first. This is an awkward process that's difficult to accomplish in the limited space of a plane, and 4 flimsy plastic clips are all that separate one from the other. Your challenge is not losing those clips. As soon as you get anywhere you have to transition from a roller bag to a handle bag, get to work on that pronto so you can actually accomplish it - there is a learning curve. The base itself is all plastic and big. You can fit it all together. Put the bag under the seat in front of you and then slide the base under the bag so that it fits under the seat as well. Then you have to figure out how to maneuver to get it all out again to get your laptop out. Not easy but a hassle I'm willing to put up with for now - I got the best bag I could as far as I'm concerned so that's just what I have to do. It will carry up to 2 17 inch laptops with ease and still have plenty of room left over, by the way. I don't know any other bag that can do that - and still fit in an airplane without having to be checked and/or put in an overhead.

Beautiful Bag but Costly If Handle Breaks
This is a beautiful bag. The front pockets seemed too tight at first, but they stretched over time and could then hold the usual things (keys, cell phone, eyeglasses, etc). The back side and corners are protected by the plastic shell, and these are the places where a bag usually gets damage from banging into doors, going around hallway corners, and moving across stairs. This should keep the bag looking great beyond the usual life of these briefcases. My only complaint is that the telescoping handle malfunctioned after a few months. McKlein was a little clumsy setting up a repair ticket, with more back and forth than should have been necessary. For the return, I took it to a UPS store since I didn't have the right size box. Packing it up and sending it back to McKlein for repair cost over $40. I was without the wheel portion for about 3 weeks total before getting it back. If it happens again, it will drive up the true cost of the bag by more than it's really worth. If you get one and it doesn't break, I think it's a great choice for the money.

Too small to be practical. DOES NOT FIT 17" LAPTOP.
Very displeased with this product. It is much smaller in person than it looks or than the specifications purport it to be. The main compartment is about 17" x 7". First of all, the interior dimension is actually about 15" long. It does NOT fit my 17" Dell laptop. I repeat: IT DOES NOT FIT MY 17" DELL LAPTOP. Thankfully, I have a small 11" Asus and I usually leave the Dell laptop at home (of course, now I'll have to use a separate case if I need to bring it). I'm a college student planning for law school. I wanted a case that would last a long, long time. The quality of this case is over the top. I'm sure it would last a lifetime. But it's simply too small. I got my main binder in, with my Asus laptop, a loose-leaf text book, my pocket-sized Black's Law Dictionary, and one other textbook. In the end, it does NOT have enough room for my two other textbooks. Love the quality, but it's too small to be practical. This is suited for someone who has lots of electronic devices, computers, tablet PC's, etc. This isn't really made for someone who has a lot of books, paperwork, and files to carry around.

Amazing Case!
I have owned this case for almost 2 years. During this time, I have ABUSED this case beyond belief. I am in nursing school and routinely carry 50-100 lbs of computer, books, and supplies in this case. Usually I leave the flaps open and my materials are spilling over the top and leaned back against the extended telescoping handle. If I only have a half dozen or so steps to go down, I will go on down the steps and grab on tightly to the telescoping handle and quickly roll all of that right on down the steps. The handle telescoping handle still operates as smoothly as the day I got it. I did cut out all of the dividers in order to cram as much stuff in as I do. Sometimes the wheels point outward just a bit and the case drags a bit over grassy areas. But, I understand this case was never intended to hold as much as I cram into it. I have banged the case into desks, doors, curbs, parts of my car, etc. And, while the leather is a little scratched, it still looks really good compared to the way I've treated it. Zippers, wheels, locking mechanisms, and both types of handles are still all fully functional. I have never regretted the money I spent on this case.

So far this is a great bag.
The bag seems to be nice quality, which it better be for the price. I haven't had any problem keeping the wheels clipped to the case. I wish the wheels did not stick out beyond the sides of the case, as it makes it easier to snag a wheel on furniture, etc. But overall I like the way the case is organized, the zippers appear good quality, and it's easy to access with the top flap opening. I carry 1 or 2 binders (1.5 " wide ones), my ipad with keyboard, a bunch of files, and some small therapy equipment. It gets heavy daily use in/out of buildings, across parking lots, up steps, etc. so we'll see how it holds up in the long run, but so far so good.
