Pleasanty surprised
I am deathly afraid of buying third party lenses for my Canon 70d. I needed something wide angle and fast. So I was considering the Sigma 18-35 1.8. Until I heard about focus issues. I just didn't want to risk it on a 800 dollar lens. Then the price dropped on this lens and made it a very attractive option. So I decided to go for it. So far everything is great. Distortion is well controlled. Very little CA and sharpness is outstanding. Auto focus is slower than canon. Af accuracy is very good. Slightly back focus on some shots. Focuses great on all focus points. Accurate for the most part. Only missed a few difficult shots. I would recommend this lens if you need something wide and sharp across the frame even at 2.0. Sharpest at f 4-8

Es un excelente lente para cuálquier cámara Blackmagic !
Mucho ruido en el enfoque y no me gustó un poco el sistema que tiene para cambiar de automático a manual

Weighty but kind of wonderful for the price.
Nice lens. Works wonderfully for car shows with a B+W polarizer on the front.I really like it for landscapes too. Pairs well with my NOS Canon 7d.Looking forward to many more shots captured with this lens. The only downside for an old fart like me is the weight but, it's liveable for theimage quality.

Great wide angle value!
This lens offers the aperture of a prime while allowing you to tweak your composition with its small zoom range. It is not the sharpest lens at the edges nor is it the fastest to focus, but it works as intended and is a very good buy for the price.

One of the most underrated lenses for APS-C
First and foremost, the pictures I attached have heavy edits on them, as most practiced photographers can plainly see. However, don't let that conflict with the main points. This lens:1) is very fast2) is very sharp3) may be faster and sharper than anything in its price bracket, possibly including primes, but definitely zooms. And no, the zoom range isn't much. It's certainly not the type of range I'd pay extra for, but this thing is priced right there with fast budget primes (Rokinon/Samyang). And no, the focus system is not modern or fast by any stretch, but the competing lenses (which again, are fast primes) are all manual focus in this price bracket. All 3 images I attached were shot at F2. The lens isn't at its sharpest at F2, but it's far sharper than many other lenses tend to be wide open. It's not easy to take a picture of a black cat laying on the floor of a dimly lit apartment at 11pm. The F2 gave me the shutter speed to get a sharp image, and the glass held up its end as well. It's slightly sharper at 14mm than it is at 20mm, but the difference is hardly noticeable to the point where I'm not sure I can even tell for certain... but I'm pretty sure that's the case. F2.8 through F8 are all markedly sharp.I still need to take this thing out and capture a wide landscape in the daytime at F11 or something like that, where I suspect it will supplant my EF-S 10-18mm as my wide landscape lens, even though this is way more to carry. I mainly bought this Tokina to be my main astrophotography lens, where the best I had at first was an EF-S 24mm F2.8 pancake lens (too tight of a focal length, not nearly as much exposure time is possible without a tracker). Now I can gather twice as much light through the aperture, and my exposure time can increase from about 13 seconds to about 21 seconds. The AF/MF switch is stupid, which is true for all of the Tokina lenses. I'm okay with the concept, but it honestly doesn't feel great to use. If you want to use AF and then switch it over to MF without losing focus.... good luck. You'll have to get just the right grip on the ring, and then hope that the ring slides into the gears straight away -- it usually doesn't. Once it's in MF, the ring turns okay... it's not super well damped, but you can control it okay enough for astrophotography. I haven't shot the Milky Way with it yet, but I've focused on stars a few times and it's easily doable. If you're in AF, it seems fine to me. Those cats are wiggly creatures, and I was able to grab focus and snap quick shots before they scurried away or started licking their butts. The AF is noisy, but it's no worse than a nifty fifty or something like that. It'll be a minor problem for videographers though. This is definitely one to buy used. Most original owners probably barely touched the thing, because it's a bulky niche lens. I love the thing, and even I barely want to carry it around. It is both longer and maybe 4x heavier than my Canon 10-18, and even manages to be heavier than my Sigma 17-50 f2.8. So it sits in a lot of lens bags and avoids a lot of abuse for most owners... but if you're the person who's willing to carry this THICC boy out into a field a 1am to capture the Milky Way core, I think it will reward you. It rewarded me when I got up at 4am to shoot the sunrise near my house!I paid less than $250 for my used copy. That's cheaper than many new Rokinon's, which I'm sure are great lenses (I will probably get one when I switch to full frame). However, this thing gives me AF, plus I've got a bit of zoom range. Crop sensor cameras in 2023 essentially represent the photographers who are still learning, stubborn to switch, and/or fixated on budget. This is a great lens to learn astrophotography with. This is high value for money within a tight budget. Zoom, AF, and the sharpness of a prime lens... all in one package that very few people know about. It's a shame that this lens' brother (the 11-16 F2.8) gets all the attention, because THIS is the lens where Tokina finally figured things out. A hidden gem at a bargain price!

An meiner Canon Eos 80D optimal
Das Objektiv ist in allen Brennweiten bis in die Ränder scharf, der Autofokus arbeitet optimal und die Lichtstärke erlaubt ein freistellen von Motiven auch bei dieser kurzen Brennweite.

さすがF2.0。

Una lama
Veramente eccezionale. Nitido.
