Great bass out of the box (and packs a punch thanks to the neck pick up
Out of the box it's a great bass, Just needed tuned and intonated and played just like a bass should. Being a Percision/Jazz it certainly packed a punch. The frets were clean with no sharpe edging which is cool. I did however take some time to adjust the neck relief and rolled my neck to make it feel a little more broken in, Also did a string swap as the string out of the box as I never really like stock strings. But the bass is great, Good weight and sounds good for the price, Not bad for a starter bass or moving on from a starter bass.

Couldn't have gotten any better for the money.
Sounds better than my dad's Fender Mustang, was set up really well out the box, only needed tuning.

Quality at a low price point
I'm actually primarily a guitarist - I own a Gibson ES-339, Jackson USA Select RR1, Taylor acoustic, Cordoba flamenco and various other guitars. I was looking for an affordable bass for recording that wouldn't sacrifice too much on quality. When I was younger in the 90's, Squier meant "budget and you can feel it".This is no longer the case. This is a well made, good quality instrument that will not hold back your playing.Brilliant for the price Squier/Fender, well done.

Perfect
Absolutely love this, I wasn't sure how it'd turn out for £240 but honestly glad that I went ahead and just bit the bullet; I've loved playing it

One Star for Looks...Grrrrr
Imagine the scene- expectant crowd in an intimate venue, band onstage, then in steps Fender Squier to ruin it all with a cheap cord jack that vanishes into the body rendering the instrument utterly useless!Guess where the economies were made to get it under £250.It does look the part excepting the scratches on delivery but it’s a big no from me.Cheers Fender.
