got this for a John Deere stx38 13hp Kohler same exact size as the factory one threads are a bit shorter than the factory but screwed in perfectly I put just a wrap of thread tape on mine I haven't started it yet to check for leaks but feel confident that it will not leak.

It looked like my 10 year old cap was cracked. It also had a slow leak. I ordered this new one, and it fit perfect. It even had thread sealant on the threads (which is good, as I have no sealant for oil). Anyway, it turns out the old cap was not cracked. Its in an area thats hard to get to. And its hard to see there, tight against the metal frame of the mower. How do people design these things. Anyway, it was oil/dirt, and not cracked. But it was finger loose. Had I tried to tighten it, it would have solved the problem. This fit, came as promised, and not expensive. And now I have a spare. Happy with this and supplier. not so much with the mower manufacturer.

Happy that it worked out but had to take the black cap off & use 10" needle nose pliers. There was no room to fit a deep socket on it with my Craftsman mower. Took quite a bit of time to figure out how to get it on.

This size SHOULD BE: one size fits all small engines…!!! When it does fit, it is a lot easier to drain the motor oil with FAR LESS OF A MESS.I have six small engines, it fits one older model, and for that one it works marvelously. No mess. My rubber hose fits easily in to a zip lock bad. YES, I would buy this again.Then need about three or four more sizes.Thank you ~ Frederick MD
