'Gitanjali' literal meaning is "Songs Offerings"
Tagore, one of the finest poets of all times, had translated some of his songs and poems in English which were published in 'Gitanjali' by Indian Society of London in the year 1912. Original text had 157 poems and songs. Society took only 50 from 'Gitanjali' and remaining 53 from other works of the poet. Tagore, the first non European, received Nobel Prize in literature in the year 1913. Book has beautiful introduction of W. B. Yeats who also received Nobel prize in Literature in the year 1923.
