Absolutely Stunning Webcam
The Elgato Facecam is a high-quality webcam that provides a smooth and clear video output with a resolution of 1080p at 60 FPS. The video quality is impressive and delivers a great visual experience. Additionally, the webcam comes with free software that allows you to adjust the composition of your shot, making it easier to create the perfect image. If you have an NVIDIA RTX series 20 or above, you can also download free software that enables you to control the background blur or use the built-in green screen feature, which is perfect for streaming. This feature enhances the quality of your streaming videos, making them more professional-looking.The webcam's USB 3.0 cable is two meters long, which gives you ample distance to set up your webcam. Furthermore, the light indicator on the webcam lets you know if it's currently active or not, which is a helpful feature. The webcam comes with a privacy cover that can be easily popped on and off, allowing you to protect your privacy when not in use. Overall, the Elgato Facecam is an excellent purchase and highly recommended. It's definitely worth the money and is a product that you won't need to upgrade for a long time.

Excellent webcam, good software for a Mac
I do a lot of Zoom seminars and this camera has significantly improved my setup and quality of broadcast. I'm still as ugly as sin, but that's not the fault of the camera. I bought this to replace a homemade Raspberry Pi-based webcam that worked but, at high resolutions, dropped frames. This Facecam doesn't and it works well pretty much "out of the box".You will need a USB 3 port. I found that not all of my USB 3 hubs worked. You will also need a good quality USB 3 cable and I ended up using the one provided with the camera despite it being unnecessarily long for my setup. The provided cable also has quite a bit of 'memory' and is a little awkward to tidy up out of the way.The camera itself is very lightweight and feels a bit plasticky for £130, but what matters is the image quality and that is excellent. It's worth using the software to manually tweak the settings - drop the ISO and improve your lighting if necessary - and you will get an excellent, stable, smooth image.I didn't use the provided clamp that fixes (or at least holds) the camera on the upper rim of your screen, but instead clamped it with a SmallRig arm. This allows me to achieve better eye contact with the audience AND read notes if needed on my screen. What would I change? The lens cap is a bit fiddly and the design of this part could certainly be improved. I will - when I find time - source a shorter and more flexible USB C cable. Other than that I can't fault the camera or the software. Unlike the Logitech software the Elgato software 'Camera Hub' works very well on Mac computers. At £130 this is not inexpensive, but it is probably the best image quality you will get unless you use a dedicated DSLR and CamLink.Don't be put off by the absence of a microphone ... this is a serious webcam for streaming or videoconferencing and if you're doing a lot of those you will have (or should have) a separate microphone.Recommended ... this is a purchase you won't regret.

Excellent at being a camera, but no frills elsewhere
This is the best webcam I've ever owned, and I've had a few of the mainstays like Logitechs, Creatives, etc. The picture quality is sharp, colours are vibrant, and framerate is super smooth. Its the most expensive one I've tried, but nothing else I've tried yet comes close. I like the fact that its excellent at what it does, and doesn't try to do anything else like add a sub-par mic that you'll never use.It could however do with some quality of life adjustments. The privacy cover is a loose one that you have to clip on, and the clipping mechanism...well, it sucks. Its not convenient and you're going to lose it at some point. You can buy a 3D-printed cover online that mounts around the edge and is just a lift up/drop down flap which is a must-buy IMO. Some kind of built-in privacy cover would have been nice. Also the price - no getting around it, its high. But if I had to pick an alternative that matches this quality, I couldn't suggest anything.

Excellent value now the Mk 2 is out...
This is the second Elgato Facecam I've bought - one is on my Elgato Prompter for presenting and 1:1 Zoom calls, the other is on top of my widescreen monitor for Zoom plenaries and breakouts where I want to see a bunch of faces - for which the Prompter screen is too small.Initially I had problems getting two Facecams to work on my PC as they each need a USB root hub, but a PCIe to USB3.0 card solved that problem. My first Facecam cost £145. Now that the Facecam Mk 2 is out, the original Facecam is great value at £110.The image quality is far superior the the Logitech Streamcam that I tried and sent back. And the Elgato Camera Hub is excellent - highly functional and intuitive. The Logitech Capture and G-Hub "equivalents" were abysmal by comparison.

Great upgrade from Logitech C920
Great upgrade from Logitech C920, Upgraded due to Gf wanting a webcam and rather than just buying another one I thought time for an upgrade,Overall this Camera is remarkable, Massive lens (Which comes with a lens Cover) which opens up a wide range of viewing angles and great quality video with automatic Light correctionSoftware is good too, can make some changes and adjust field of view but seems digital rather than optical so mileage may varyFirst time using it could see the difference with it being 1080 60fps a little scary thinking I was stuck inside my monitor with how smooth and reactive it was!Things to note on this one, Use the cable that came with it as its high bandwidth usb 3.0+ And its ideally better going straight into a motherboard USB 3.0+ to get enough power and data, I tried in my built in monitor KVM which is 3.2 but nothing gets picked up at all but using it currently with a Ugreen USB Hub KVM and works fine.
