Upon opening the package, the device had some marks on it and needed to be factory reset. I wonder how much the Amazon Refurbish program actually checks electronics to see if they're working. The marks were easy to clean off (might have been greasy hands that caused them) and the factory reset was a pinhole button to press once I checked the TP-Link support site for a manual. 5 stars for the actual device and price for being refurbished, but 1 star for the Amazon people who actually did the refurbishing.I have great WiFi coverage in my home and didn't need the repeater function, so I can't comment on that other than it looked like it worked. I upgraded the extender to the latest firmware once I got it attached to my WiFi and turned off all extender/repeater functions. I used the Ethernet port to connect an old PS3 that has broken WiFi to the internet. It worked great to connect a legacy device that only has Ethernet to the internet when I can't run a long cable from my router in the basement to my bedroom upstairs. Totally worth it for the price and would buy again if it broke and would buy more if I needed them for other Ethernet only devices.

Easy to set up as a wifi range extender, or use as I did to get a hardwire ethernet port upstairs in my condo where I could not run a cable. I have it plugged into an 8 port ethernet switch for everything upstairs, and main wifi router is downstairs where cable broadband is located.

It was easy to set up but when I got new WiFi it was really difficult because I had to restart it with pressing a really small button and it took a while

I love this device it was refurbished and works perfectly. It also allows my older wifi devices to connect without any issues. I have security cameras that don't have newer wifi connect abilities and won't connect to my newer fiber optic router. This extender has the older and newer, 5g capabilities and I'm able to connect all my devices without issues. I didn't want to buy newer cameras since the current ones work perfectly fine so this product also saved me money. Excellent product and brand I trust.

I bought this dual-band extender to replace a TP link model N300 which was slow, hoping it would be faster. Setup was easy, and initial speeds were in the 30+ MBPS range - hooray! However, the connection was very unreliable, with frequent massive slowdowns and drops. It took a lot of time to reset, reconnect, test, etc. I use the wifi in my shop to listen to podcasts and music while I work and this product is just too unreliable for this use. I'm not sure why other people have been lucky enough for this extender to work, but I had to return it and am now using the slow but reliable N300 model again. Maybe it will work for you but based on my experience I would not recommend it.

Prompt delivery per usual. To be clear, it works as intended. However, I’m not sure what the refurbishment process is like, but I would have hoped the unit would pass the eyeball test first and foremost. It’s slightly yellowed and had brownish smudges on the front. The smudges came off. And in order to get it to work, I had to reset it with the pinhole button. We’ll see if it outlasts that 90 day warranty, but so far so good. I gained an extra signal bar with my wifi camera.

Easy to use and and worked as described would recommend.

Had two of these for a while now and they are still going strong. Easy to setup and then just leave them. Have two different spots in my house where wifi was ok but not great and these fixed the issue.
