This book is becoming popular at the right time. If you look at what's going on in China, Canada and other places you can see how we actually do have a ministry of media, but this is entirely wrongthink, Yes, people in this timeline can't even grasp what freedom is. Once you have it's difficult to contain. Go China! Go Iran! I they're beautiful people that just want freedom.

I was surprised at how much I liked this edition once it was in my hands - it's really beautifully made, feels wonderful to touch, and looks so special. The cover design is eerie in all the right ways, given the content. The text is well designed, highly legible, and printed on high-quality paper.The book itself is obviously great - it's my third re-read of it, and it's always hard to shake how strangely predictive Orwell was. I recognised far too much of it in our political landscape and my workplace.The seller was great - I received the book the next day, which is so speedy for Australia! It came really well-packaged, matched the description perfectly, and arrived in perfect condition.I highly recommend, the novel, this edition, and this seller.

冷戦下の西側諸国において反共産主義のバイブルとして持ち上げられすぎた感もありますが、それを差し引いても、この作品は良くできています。1984は西洋においてある種の共産主義像を作り上げましたし、この作品中の造語は英語の一般語彙にいくつも取り込まれました。現在においても、英語圏ではこの作品に頻繁に言及されるので、（政治的趣向はどうであれ）文化を学ぶという意味でも、必ず読んでおく必要があるでしょう。読めるのであれば、できれば翻訳より原文が望ましいのはどの本でも同じでしょうが、本書は、上記の文化的理由により、原文で読むメリットが特に大きい本だと思います。

Decent quality book with respectively thick paper stock and hardy cover material.The printing ON the cover does seem to be wearing off a little but that's to be expected.That said it will fit in nicely on my bookshelf and stand around for quite a while.

Love this book. Second time to read. So intuitive.
