I had used this device while in the hospital. I purchased another brand of leg lifter because of cost but ultimately stopped using it after a few tries as it was not functional.Sammons Preston makes many assistive devices and has good quality and functional designs. I have learned that it is better to purchase from a company that has > 40 years of experience in the business.The Sammons Preston lifter is well made and very sturdy. The rod that gives it rigidity is very stable and does not flex when used. Also the fabric around the rod does not shift when the device is used(that was a problem with a less expensive leg lifter that I had purchased).Given that is is holding up to regular use and is functioning as designed I would say it is good value for the money.

Due to a patellar fracture, I could not lift my leg to get in bed or shower. After having to depend on someone else in home to do this and really having a problem when they were at work, I found this product. It returned my independence during the recovery period. So easy to use, just slip your foot in the loop and hold opposite end. Due to product being somewhat stiff, it is easy to pull on one end and lift leg into bed or shower. I highly recommend this for anyone unable to lift their leg.

This is stiff like the ones used in rehab. It was exactly what I needed to lift my legs into bed after my stroke. It was very useful for shifting my legs into different positions. I also used it to pull things to me that were out of my reach.

This strap is quite important for leg injury or surgical recovery. It is adequate but the loop for the foot is small. So putting it on over the foot is awkward.

A broken hip meant for a long time lifting my leg was impossible (in the beginning) to hard later on. This made it possible for me to get in and out of bed on my own.

I had a traumatic accident that shattered the head of my femur. Getting in and out of bed was very painful and could only be done with assistance from someone else. This just picks up my leg and puts it where I lay it down. Done. I no longer needed help. It’s great.

Upon arrival, both lifters were individually wrapped, but they were tied together very tightly with plastic. I had to find a very sharp scissors and cut carefully so that I did not damage the lifters. The leg lifters arrived with the foot openings closed. It took a great deal of hand strength to pull to get the openings large enough for my foot. I had to get help to get them opened enough for my shoe. Also, I have a problem with the quality control. One of the lifters in the two pack was sewn so that opening could be pulled larger than the opening in the other lifter. However, once set up, I like that the straps and openings for the feet are rigid so it is easy to position the leg lifters around my shoes. They fulfilled their purpose of helping me lift my leg after hip surgery. I like them much better than the lifters that fold up easily for transporting but require more effort to get them around my foot.

I had several leg lifters, but they were limp and it was hard to get my foot in the loop and to also lift my leg. This one is perfect. I love the sturdiness.
