excellent dog shoes
These are great quality and fit. Used them for my little dog when the chemo affected the pads on his paws and he was unable to walk. I bought infant socks to put on his paws, then slipped these shoes on him, and he was able to walk. They function very well, are waterproof, and durable. They velcro high up on the lower leg, so they stayed on well. I washed them many times and they look brand new.

Won't last long if your dog is active
The most common problem with dog shoes is rolling. That means they will turn on your dog's foot until the top is now on the bottom and your dog ends up walking on it. You have to keep an eye on your dog and turn the shoes until they fit properly again. With this particular shoe I was doing this constantly which was frustrating. The material was so cheap that my dog tore them up very quickly when he was running on the tops before I could get to him and turn them. Because of the way they fit they were moving around on his paws alot. They never felt secure and also would fly off when he sprinted or took off fast because the strap are elastic and had some give to them. They aren't ergonomic but more akin to tube socks. They would be great as house shoes or indoor shoes but I can't recommend them for outdoor use. They just won't hold up and will frustrate both the dog and owner. I opted to buy a different shoe and it was far superior. Keep looking, unless you want a cheap indoor shoe in which case these are great. They breathe very well and will keep your dogs feet cool. They are comfortable, my dog never chewed at them or shook them, he seemed very natural in them. they are lightweight. The pads will protect him indoors and not mark floor surfaces. I would use these for all indoor applications where he is walking, such as hotels or malls, or in a guest home or hospital. They don't hold odor like other shoes do. They are washing machine safe and color fast. I don't use them anymore because we found a better shoe but these are actually perfect for indoor use. Think of them as house slippers instead of shoes and you will have a good idea of what they are.

My poor dog will have scars for life - 0 stars for "comfort"
If I could give negative stars for "comfort", I would. We used these to help stop my dog from scratching himself to the point of bleeding on his neck (he has bad allergies and dry skin in the winter). We would put them on during the day when we were at work, and remove them when we were home and able to watch him. They were constantly getting turned around so the rubber would be on top, but it was still preventing him being able to scratch his neck with his nails, so it was ok. The front ones would always be off within minutes of putting them on, but since his back legs were the main scratching ones, we didn't worry. After a day or so, he started limping and not putting weight on his back legs. When I checked his back legs, it appears that when the booties were getting turned around on his leg, the inside seam was rubbing his leg completely raw - to the point of bleeding! I immediately stopped using the booties, and had to bandage his back ankles for over 2 weeks while it healed. He'll have scars, but at least I caught it in time to prevent infection. These are not durable or comfortable at all.AVOID PURCHASING!Also, I returned them, but they claim to have never received the returned items, so still no refund. Awesome.

The sizing is a little off
We bought the wrong size so we did have to return them. I would suggest sizing up. They did come very well packaged and the quality is very well. They just were too small to even put them on our dog's foot.

Just what I needed - lightweight but durable and perfect for indoor use
The media could not be loaded. As the owner of two 2 year old border collies I have my hands full. These two can be pretty rough in general, and fairly obsessive with the ball machine, etc. I bought these almost a year ago and got the wrong size. Meanwhile I have tried using outdoor "boots" for indoor play, socks, and other things....(the boots were too hot, the socks were to slippery and slipping off....) THEN my boy wore a hole in his foot, (outside) and needed some protection so it could heal....And, it isn't like I could tell the border collie to just chill out. On a whim , as I was preparing to send these off to goodwill or something, the card fell out and I thought...what the heck I may as well try writing to the company and see if they will give me the right size. Well, they did still do the replacement - like I said it was quite a while. So, Lisa sent me the new ones in the right size and they are PERFECT....They don't slip or turn, stay on, etc. They seem quite durable yet they breathe well. The cuffs are snug; both my dogs are used to wearing shoes and they know that in order to get the ball machine they have to wear shoes so they are patient. But, you might find it takes a bit of patience to get them on if your dog isn't used to wearing shoes, and if your dog isn't hyper hyper active like mine you might order a size up so the cuff goes on more easily. I mostly use on his front feet.

Not very durableā¦
These were purchased for my 11 yr 10 mo old dog who has arthritis, limited mobility and subsequently, tender pads. I would NOT recommend these for slip prevention on hardwood floors or for durability.PROS:*Better than nothing to prevent slipping on the hardwood floors, but she still slips*OK for walks, these help prevent bruising but do rotate around her feet.CONS:*Difficult to get on, even with a lick mat stuck to the fridge to distract her*The sewn-on elasticized strap for securing boot doesnāt do the trick (size is good, the strap placement is wrong for her foot - Verified by my Physical Therapy Vet)*I canāt judge how tight it is (I have non stretch velcro tape I use instead in the proper position)*Do NOT stand up to use - weāve taken only twelve (measured) 0.17 mile walks, the boots rotated on her feet each time, so we were constantly stopping to adjust them, and the fabric gets damaged.- see photoSorry HiPaw company, these just donāt get my vote.
