It look good in the pics , so took a chance and ordered . I wasnt even sure on my size. Normally i wear XL and 36/36 just fits me perfectly. I love the trousers, they seem to be very very high quality.

These trousers fit perfectly (so the sizing is correct) and are once again exactly what I had in mind. As for the strange way they are delivered, the trouser legs are indeed scrunched up on delivery and thus very much wrinkled, but this does not make the trousers "unusable" as some reviewers seem to fear. Just soak them in a bucket of water and hang them up soaking wet for a few hours. The wrinkles will then no longer be visible.

Get one size smaller of your actual size, i wear 32 usually but had to replace this one with 31 to fit perfectly.

One my fourth pair, I wear them until they rip, normally on the seat/inside leg. They last about a year each (worn 3-4 times a week), and I think that's good value, given that they are comfortable and have some stretch to the fabric. I'm sure a pair of thicker cotton cargo trousers would last longer but they wouldn't be so accommodating of a large lunch or heavy weekend away :-) I wear them dog walking, pub walking and of course dog+pub walking. Lots of pockets, so many in fact you will find yourself doing the house key "Haka" on a regular basis. Yes, the trousers arrived with balled up legs to save on storage and transport costs, all good for the environment. You could iron them, or alternatively wear them for a few hours and they sort themselves out. If you are planning to wear them straight away - maybe for a cheese and wine reception - I'd allow for ironing time, and also reconsider your definition of "smart casual"

I get peoples annoyance at the way they are packaged, it confused me at first. But it it is clearly so that they have a fashionably distressed look when you wear them. Mine taper down the legs to a snug fit at the ankle (as pictured on the model). As a result, the creases have settled down on their own due to the fit. If you have ordered them too long in the leg (as some of the reviews with pictures clearly have) they will remain over creased and look like workman’s trousers. Fine if that’s what you paid £50 - £70 for. They are definitely not meant to be starched chinos with perfect centre creases. They are also not meant to pass military parade. If you want those sort of combats, Amazon sell them. They have also not been returned, so if you’re thinking buying, ignore those comments. I would say that these are great, if they are what you are after. Mine look awesome, perfect fit.

These are really great combats it's just a shame someone had the idiotic idea to tightly roll the legs up as far as the knees making them wrinkled beyond belief. No amount of ironing gets rid of the wrinkles so I'm hoping washing them will fix them. Just doesn't make sense; there's distressed and then there's crumpled up like a paper bag.Great quality, great fit (although the waist is a little loose) but loses a star for the dumb packing.

These are fantastic combat trousers. Unfortunately amazons packaging team have not got a clue how to repackage items once they have been tried on by someone else. I have ordered numerous pairs of these and every pair have arrived with both the legs of the trousers tied in massive knots. This makes the trousers useless. The creases in the trousers are so bad they are unwearable. PLEASE AMAZON, STOP DOING THIS. For the price they are, its totally unacceptable

Very well made. These come up big, Im a 33” waist had to exchange for a 31” waist. But why send this pair with the legs all bunched up? Arrived very creased. 5 stars for quality and style. No stars for packaging. Update: Second pair arrived today...again packaged the same way, and badly creased. Ironingboard out and 10 minutes of ironing before you can wear these!
