Works perfectly
I had a significant ground loop in an unbalanced line off of a USB sound card that was part of an otherwise balanced audio setup. It didn't matter what I did, I couldn't mitigate it.I was skeptical when I ordered this, but it worked perfectly right away! The line is completely silent even at full volume.

Worked for my digital piano and DAW
I have a home digital piano and a computer that hosts Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) software. The piano has a two prong plug (i.e., it has no ground). It has a USB connection to the computer for MIDI and PCM audio streams. And it has line outs that I wanted to connect to my studio monitor speakers. The computer also has line outs to those studio monitors. That makes two paths to the computer Earth (house power) ground from the piano (USB and speaker line outs) forming a classic ground loop. The result was noise in the speakers. Isolating the ground on the USB connection eliminated the noise completely. This device is "plug and play". It took all of about 1 minute to solve my problem.

BEWARE: Destroyed my USB hub
My HX Stomp produces hum in the audio output when plugged into USB, and I got this device in an attempt to rectify it. I plugged the isolator into my Anker 7-port USB 3 hub, then plugged the HX into the isolator. It did eliminate the hum, but I couldn't get the HX to connect to my computer. I then noticed that the other devices on the hub weren't connecting either, and the little lights by the ports had gone out. The top 4 ports of the hub were no longer working, even after I removed the isolator! As a test, I plugged the isolator into one of the remaining ports, and instantly the rest of the hub was fried, too. It's possible I got a defective one, so your milage may vary. But I would be very careful with these things. I'm really glad I didn't plug it directly into my computer.

solved ground loop problem
solved ground loop problem for DP100 while reading power value from DP100 and controlling the DUT at the same time.

Does not work with modern audio interface
The product information states:"APPLICATION - Medical and Industrial Application USB to USB Single Port Isolator up to High Speed 480Mbps."but the seller responded to the inquiry that"This model isolator is USB 2.0 compliant, but only supports Low & Full Speed. The Focusrite products appear to require High-Speed or better, which this isolator does not support."Looking at other reviews, it looks like older generation of audio interfaces work but recent ones like my Focusrite Scarlett Solo 4th Gen did not work with it.Refunded.

Works great with Line 6 HX Stomp
I bought this to get rid of the USB noise from my computer that was creeping into my amplifier's audio signal via connected HX Stomp. Works like a charm while maintaining a great connection to the editing software and DAW.

A must-have for USB powered CV gear
Using an Arturia Keystep powered by USB, all sorts of noise would go down the CV outs and create noise in the analog gear I was trying to play. This solved it 100%. It's so quiet. A bit expensive, but definitely going to get more of these as the need warrants.

Injects additional noise into USB device power
What a piece of trash. I connected this to a device under test and looked at the device signals on an oscilloscope. With power off, the CableMax was adding 1.2V (peak-to-peak) of noise at the ground state. With power on, every signal has 1.2V (p-p) additional noise. I removed the CableMax and plugged the device under test directly into my computer USB port. Noise is now in the 200mV range.Do not buy this for USB isolation. Waste of money.
