Q: What are the size(diameter) of tweeters / midranges / subwoofers ? And do these have passive crossovers inside?

Dear Kim,There is a passive crossover in the speaker. 3/4" Super tweeter, 1" Tweeter, and 5 1/4" Woofer.Eric C

Q: How is the bass to use without subwoofer?

I just spent a couple days measuring these speakers with REW (Room EQ Wizard) with and without the SACS9 subwoofer. In my room, these speakers play below 50hz (although there is a lot of ringing below 200hz). I found the best crossover setting on the back of the subwoofer was at the minimum setting (50hz) and appropriate volume for the room (8-9 o'clock position for my room). Anything higher than that and I'm getting large peaks at the crossover point. Purchase these speakers when they are on sale (I got mine for $88 and the sub for $99) and you will not be disappointed.
