Tamiya Models U.S. Self-Propelled 155Mm Gun M40 1/35 Toy, Beige

Great (as usual) Tamiya 1/35 kit. Tongue and groove fitting. The pulley system for the rear gate is challenging however and takes a lot of effort. I recommend getting the aftermarket metal barrel from Tamiya. It's beautiful.Definitely not a kit for beginners.

Only Tamiya could take such complicated subject matter and make it so relatively easy to build. Pricey, but worth it.

Only one prototype M40 was used in WWII; but it was an excellent weapon in the Korean War. Each M40 had a crew of 8; and these 8 figures are included in the kit. The kit is molded in Olive Drab color, and the tracks are one-piece flexible tracks. Several close-up photos of an actual M40 are included with the instructions. Several 155mm shells and four powder-charge canisters are included. One figure is holding a 155mm sized powder-charge bag. This model can be assembled as either travel mode or firing mode. The cannon can be elevated and rotated for different poses.Likes: An extra set of the micro-miniature hardware is provided (and like me, you may need it). The instructions are accurate and generally easy to follow. There was virtually no flash on the plastic parts.Dislikes: Unless several parts are left unglued, this model can't be easily changed between travel mode or firing mode for different display purposes.

Another great kit from Tamiya.This model is more than an SPG.It tells a story.One of sweat,dirt,and a will to win.A story of men in combat.Clear off the workbench.Get yourself great paint and tools,and plan on spending and taking your time on this one,for it will be well worth it.

My son bought it as a Christmas gift for me, I'm almost done building it... flash is pretty minimal, but still there in spots that are obvious if not cleaned up. Lots of tiny parts, fun, nice size kit!!

This is quite a difficult build. A lot of very small pieces and very detailed. Not an easy one. Need patience and experience for this one

It's aTamiya kit. That should be enough. Well made kit of something that normally isn't done. Lots of part's and detail.
