This crinoline hoop skirt worked very well, as far as making the dress poof out. However, I wasn't aware that it was a 'pull tight around the waist and tie' type of attachment. My daughter didn't care for that. Also, the material itself is thin, which is fine, but you can see where the bottom stops if you have a gown that you can see through at all. As you can see in the photo, my daughter chose a bright red and you could still see where the hoop skirt ended. Seemed like it was a little short. If your child doesn't mind that type of closure and the dress is dark enough, this would work great. We ended up returning this because we found a dress with one built in and while it wasn't as poofy as this petticoat, it was more comfortable and one less thing for her to wear. Good purchase but even with the drawstring we had a little difficulty keeping it up on my daughter's waist. My daughter is really slim so we had too super tighten it to get it to stay up.

Look exactly like picture, my daughter 10 we orderd the biggest size we could have went smaller but it’s very nice , my daughter 4 foot 9 109 lbs and sombody bigger could fit this as well

Easy to get on, collapses down so it doesn't take up space, easy to hold up for potty breaks. Great buy. Our daughter is 4 years old and petite. 30 lbs. It's drawstring around the waist so it fit her well
