Cool
Got thos for my 7 year old nephew. Obviously he needed help to assemble it, but got it up and running and he's been busy for hours and not on his ipad!

Fun project but needs adult supervision
**edit - raising my rating from 1 star to 4. The first car didn’t work but once the seller found out, they quickly resolved our issue and sent us a second car kit for free. The second car works! That being said, my 9 year old is pretty self-sufficient and he struggled with this project on his own. We ended up doing the whole thing, step by step with him, so this is def not something you can get to keep them independently busy. Also a note, that you burn the wires in the beginning with a lighter, so that’s another place where kids can’t do this unsupervised. But all in all, it was a good learning project and my car is ecstatic the car runs now!**Original post - We bought this for our 9 year old. He put it together and it didn’t work. My husband took it apart and put it together with him again and it still wouldn’t work. My husband thinks there’s a problem with the motor. Disappointing. My son is super frustrated and upset.

Excited to try it out!
This project comes in its own bag with all the pieces and directions needed to complete it. I’m excited to build it with my nephews and I’m hoping it works as described!

Horrible
I bought this for my 6yr old son and husband to put together as a father son thing. It was horrible. I helped my son first and than passed it to my husband after 30min. Not only are the pieces very tiny but the instructions are terrible. And after my husband and son worked on it for 1hr the thing didn't even work. The remote lit up but there was an issue with it communicating with the car. My son was so sad after spending so much time building it. I'm a crafty person who uses a lot of small tools and loves working with my hands. My husband works on everything from cars, to solar, to building anything with his hands. This was not an easy project and I wouldn't recommend it. To complete it and then to find out there is an issue with the car was the worst. My husband did not want to get an new one and rebuild so we returned it completed. Not fun for my son or us.

Quality matches price
This is a quick, fun build. The wires do not twist or bend; after twisting or bending, they will return to their original shape and position. This makes it very difficult to connect the wires together. A different metal should have been used in the wiring. The antenna than connects to the vehicle has a loop on the end that allows it to be screwed to the vehicle. The loop is too large, so it doesn't stay connected and must be readjusted on occasion. Even with sustained damage (driving off tabletops), it continues to operate correctly. The wood is lightweight and expected to break easily when played with by a child. Pictures shown are from the same day it was built. Note: car is not designed to turn (only forward and reverse); no on/off switch (vehicle started driving itself one time, must manually remove batteries).
