stoma guard shelid
It's good but expensive for a small bit of plastic with velcro that you have to buy the velcro separately if u want more the guard is for a small stoma unfortunately my stoma is huge and just about covers it but when i pull off back it splits me bag and have auful leaks wish you had a choice for sizes not one standard size

Godsend but...
I've been after some kind of guard for my stoma for nearly 2 decades now but didn't know they even existed. The guard itself is made from good hard plastic but the stick on Velcro is very expensive to replace. It has to be replaced each time you change the bag or it falls off. So I guess the guard Velcro will have to be a " luxury" and used only when really needed like going out in crowded places or doing housework when it gets banged a lot. I wish I could just use it every time so it was one last thing to worry about. The guard is shaped like a tortoise shell. Perfect in design and although it is thick and feels heavy to hold it actually doesn't feel heavy on the stoma bag or show through my clothes (I thought it would, which would of put me of using it. As a stoma bag is bad enough without a 2" knobbly bit on top of it). I would of given 5 * if the Velcro replacements were only cheaper especially considering there isn't that much to them. Literally just crescent shaped sticky backed Velcro. Which come on pieces of acetate 2 x pairs on each sheet). This guard ND Velcro does come with a fair few replacement Velcro bits(sorry I haven't counted how many as I've not been well) so I would say I expected the price (everything for disability use is expensive. Taking advantage of the market group. Just wish these people (all 'aids for the differantleabled') would remember this isn't a fashion choice for us. But then fashion is most part a lot cheaper. I would buy again if replacements were cheaper, especially for new stoma wearer's as it would give them more confidence to go out ND live a normal life again. As it has mine,at last, just 20 years to late(oh how handy this would of been when my children were little ND I had pets as well. Would of been a godsend).
