Great for sofa TV watching!
All our life we have eaten at the dining room table. Since its just the wife and me, we decided it would be nice to sit on the sofa to watch TV sometimes. The height is adjustable to a comfortable level. The legs slide under the sofa and you have plenty of room for your legs. The height is adjustable from high to very low for children. We go midway. The tray stays sturdy at what ever height you choose. If you have a meal that needs cut with a steak knife, the table does move a lot. This works better for non cutting foods such as chicken, pizza, or seafood. The color is as it shows in the pictures. It reminds me of hospital trays. But you can choose other colors. For storage, the legs stick out although the tray folds down. We put it behind the sofa. There is a drink holder that slides out. It is sturdy but the base cap sticks to the cans.Overall, for the price, its what you expect. Its a good tray table and we are happy with the two we bought.

Great table! Solved many of our needs
Easy to use and holds weight well. We use it to hold laptops or plates and drinks by our couch. It also folds easily to store on the side of our couch or by the TV stand. The drink holder isn’t strong so it only holds cans really. We set any other drink right on the top of the table.Pro’s: light weight, holds basic items, class up easy, adjustable height, stores easily.Cons: drink holder is a bit weaker than I’d like.We use this daily and it’s great overall. Much better than not having a place to set a plate or laptop beside your lap or couch arm.

Decent quality tray table
This is a review of the Table Mate II, just in case Amazon decides to combine all Table Mate reviews in the future.I bought the Table Mate mainly as a place to park my laptop when working at home, watching streaming movies, etc. It doesn't disappoint. The dimensions of the table top compare favorably to old-school table trays that people used to use. You could easily use this as a tray for eating away from the dining room if you wanted to. The top seems to be made of high-impact plastic and is very easy to keep clean. There's a "drink holder" that slides out of the side of the top and is large enough to hold a canned beverage or a cup with a small diameter. It is not large enough for the average coffee cup.The table's legs are made out of metal piping and can be adjusted to different heights. The table can also have its angle adjusted, in case you're using this for drawing. The higher you set the height of the table, the more unsteady it feels. That's just basic physics, folks, because there aren't any struts between the legs to provide extra support. From two notches down, the table feels much steadier. Supposedly it can withstand a weight of 40 pounds but I haven't tried it and wouldn't recommend it because the table clearly isn't designed for bearing a heavy burden.I'm happy with this purchase. The product clearly meets my expectations.

Use every day!
This product is an ideal solution for a personal tray. Perfect for eating and large enough to hold multiple items at once. The only complaint is a few product design details. I wish it had a better way to take down and store.Tray leg attachments becomes hard to change and cumbersome to fold away. If the legs become off-balance, and you risk it trying to fall apart on you as you make it compact which could pinch fingers or cause an injury for a child or elderly person. Also the setting to lock the tray in upright position can be temperamental if you accidentally pick up on the tray to move around the room you risk the locking device will swing out of place too quickly and tray will become off balance and fall, it needs a safety feature so that doesn’t naturally happen. So only making it more compact in another better way and keeping it from too easily folding on you is what I say is the only two negatives. Otherwise this product is absolutely perfect. Colors are great to choose from. They look nice and you’re able to eat or do crafts even do a small art project with it while it’s in a very sturdy locked position, but the transitioning of opening to closing and putting all away is sometimes painful and dangerous to do and can cause frustration or injury to someone this part needs adult assistance to put away better.

Would be perfect if the cupholder fit coffee cups other than paper cups.
UPDATED: Ooh, I just realized I paid $40, not $30 like I thought. Not sure it's worth that much, I'll have to think about his more.We like it but the cupholder (the *only* reason we bought this version of Table Mate) is useless except for maybe holding some M&Ms :D The insert is removable, so it can be cleaned. Maybe a paper cupcake bake wrapper filled with snacks!Other than the cupholder that's useless for the intended purpose of holding "cups", it's okay. Slightly flimsy, don't move a lot if you've got food or your laptop on it.We really like the black color, and that it has a kind of etched or textured design that helps prevent slippage a little bit, better than nothing. I'm going to make some sort of thicker fabric piece as an insert to top it - fitting it within the little rim of the tray. I have some really pretty vinyl that looks like a darkish brown tooled leather...I think that will be fabulous on these!Back to the most wonderful and desirable attempt to provide a cupholder: it will hold a 16 oz water bottle or a regular size beer bottle (but we don't drink beer), but the only "cup" it will hold would be a paper cup, cardboard coffee cup kinda thang. NO WAY will this hold a traditional, ceramic coffee cup or even a regular drinking glass. :( I told DH I want him to drill a hole large enough to hold what we need and we'll insert a drop-into plastic something large enough to hold our coffee cups up to the bottom of the cup's handles. This "cup holder" would be sooooo great if it was larger AND had a slot in which to fit the handles of coffee cups.Super easy to assemble and very useful adjustable height :D
