Exact fit, easy to install for a DIYer, functions same as original

This kit is a drop-in replacement for our John Deere D105 Auto tractor. Install instructions from Briggs & Stratton that are included are incredibly vague, so here's what we did: Disconnect the battery. Take off the plastic housing from the top of the engine by first removing the air filter housing. There's a small screw to the side of the air filter that needs to be removed as well as several 3/8" bolts around the base of the housing that holds it all in place. Then use a small regular screwdriver to pry off the cap from the center of the flywheel screen, exposing the large flywheel screw. On our tractor this takes a 24mm socket to remove. Using an impact wrench is best, but can also be removed using a ratchet wrench along with a pipe wrench placed down below on the drive shaft (otherwise you'll just spin the flywheel when you try to loosing the screw by hand). Once removed, the replacement is straight forward. Simply line up the two molded dimples in the base of the flywheel fan with the two holes in the face of the flywheel, then reinstall the screen and fasten it all down with the flywheel screw. Lastly replace the cap over the flywheel screw and reinstall the engine cover. Done in under 10 minutes. Hope this is helpful.

Worked just fine on my 2007 Bolens 13AM model lawn tractor. Did have to modify it slightly (per the instructions) as this replacement part is made to fit two different year models. This is a genuine B&S part.

I order this part because it was part of a kit. Cheaper than ordering separate parts. I did not need the metal shroud or the round cover, I only needed the Fan and the 2 bolts. I got the package, there were NO bolts. I contacted Amazon, and told them the bolts were missing, however, I went to double check to see If they taped them somewhere on one of the parts, which I had done already, and that is when I noticed 2 Dimples on the bottom where the fan sits on the flywheel. Two nipples pointing down, where they would go into the flywheels where the bolts were screwed on, So this picture does not display what you get. You do NOT get the 2 screws, the Fan has dimples that go into the flywheel holes where the bolts would go, so if you need the bolts, with this kit, then do not order this one, but is should work with the dimples to keep it in place. Time will tell.

Fit my LA105 just fine. I had the plenum off for accessing the fuel pump, so this job was easy enough. I did need to purchase an impact wrench, but hey, I wanted one anyway.

The Briggs and Stratton cooling fan kit fit my 2011 Craftsman LT2000 19.5 hp engine on the riding mower perfect. It arrived quick.
