Nicely presented, good gift

Purchased this as a Christmas gift for a close friend who enjoys Whiskeys and Bourbons. He absolutely loved it! It comes beautifully packaged and sealed. The stones are brilliant (I bought hubby some last year, same brand different set) and they chill your drink nicely as you would expect them to! All in all, highly recommend!

Lovely boxed gift

It’s a nice set, and If I was receiving it as a present, I would be chuffed!As far as wow factor goes, it does a stand-up job. The black and gold box looks attractive the stones on its little tray and the nicely sized glass, all very nice.I have no Idea what eco-crystal glass is but I’m going to attempt to break it down, for my own purposes. The eco is presumably how clean the production was, although they’re must have been a quarry involved for the rocks and I’m guessing they must have chopped down a tree for the wooden stand, I’m not an eco maniac but would love to here about how eco friendly it is, if this is the selling point.The glass itself does not strike me as being crystal as in it being lead formed crystal, I think it’s just a glass and they refer to the cut of it rather that it being actually a lead crystal glass. Again, it’s not a deal breaker, the glass is really quite nice.Then there’s the waisted opportunity to add a coaster, it would have been a nice touch, a little granitecoaster, but no, just some bits of wood advertising their product. As a top tip though if you wantsome granite or marble coasters for your whiskey glasses, go to a stone tile website and ask forsome samples, marble is my favourite, they will easily send you half a dozen, all cut to coaster sizesome companies even supply little felt bottoms for the samples and it’s absolutely free.And finally, the box. It’s nice packaging, but like all packaging it will eventually be discarded. It wouldHave been better to set this all in a wooden box, may as well go all the way if you’re presenting aWhisky glass like this.Don’t let me detract from what is a lovely gift, and at a bargain price. I would be tickled pink to getsuch a gift, I just wanted to highlight these little points.

Five stars for flavour, you ask? Well it's five stars for absolutely lack of flavour - the whisky stones didn't affect the taste of my malt at all. Probably a better gift for the occasional whisky (that's whisky - no "e" unless you're talking about Irish or American stuff) drinker than a serious malt man. The tumbler is fine for whisky and ice, but no match for a tulip shaped Glencairn glass. The stones themselves are a bit of a gimmick, but the do what they say they will - keep whisky cold without diluting it.

The stones are very cold when chilled and really make my drink cold and still rich in flavour.One of the good things about this set is that you don’t have to be a whiskey drinker for you to enjoy this sophisticated set, you can also use this for cocktails or just regular drinks. For its price, I think this would make a really great birthday or Christmas present. Happy to recommend this!
