THE SPENCO POLYSORB CROSS TRAINER ARCH SUPPORT CAN BE TRIMMED - READ MY REVIEW FOR INSTRUCTIONS
My Podiatrist recommended only Spenco Polysorb Cross Trainer Arch Supports for Bilateral Pes Planus (Flat Feet) with 30 degrees of overpronation where my feet naturally turn inward and when standing pushes my ankles out of leg alignment putting pressure on my ankles and leg bones with pain. He said he recommends the above to all his patients who have similar conditions for 3 months and if they work to replace them every three years. If they do not work in the first 3 months and pain is still present, prescription custom made insoles would be needed, but Medicare and other insurance companies do not cover the costs. Lastly, these do not cover 1/2 sizes so you have to go up a size so they need to be trimmed to your existing soles, that I have successfully done. The manufacturer has no literature on trimming. To trim a 11 Inch Spenco Sole to the 10-1/2 Inch Sole, do the following: Remove the existing sole from the shoe; place the existing sole over top of the Spenco Sole (only the upper sides should be too large); use a black sharpie and trace around the existing sole on the Spenco Sole; use very sharp scissors to slowly trim along the black markings being careful not to pull any threads, cut them; repeat for other shoe and install them in your shoes. Worked great for me.
