This was my initial dive into air-frying following the enthusiasm of friends.This air-fryer is so very easy to operate that the instructions are hardly essential. I have no complaints about its ability to cook food as advertised and as one would expect. I got a shelf accessory to double up the usable surface area - it's a deep basket for just one steak - and at 4.5l its been a good size for 3 people.The one thing I would have liked to have been aware of before deciding on this model is that it can't be used without the basket so different cooking methods aren’t possible without accessories. Not a fault at all but worth considering before you buy but as a basic air-fryer, this is up to the job for regular use.After 6 months of use (maybe 2 or 3 times a week) and cleaning as recommended, both the pan and basket are showing signs of wear. As the pan barely needs more than wiping out it could be heat causing the finish to lift.Now that I've had the air-fryer experience and I'm more aware of the capabilities of other models I'm ready to move on to something else but I don't regret starting with this one.

It was my second time to buy this product. My family was using it from a year without any problem. So l decided to buy one for myself.We have a big family, my mum doesn’t prefer to cook fish kind of things in to the house because of smell. She likes to do things old style. She always cooks them at balcony or garden depending on weather. Last time she burned herself. I decided to change this method completely. Cooking fish is now easy, and not oily. Everyone is happy, especially my mum.It is huge 😁, exactly what I want. It works well. 15 minutes for chips (if it’s frozen chips you need to set more time), 6 minutes for warming up anything. Taste of the goods, with less oil or without oil, are amazing.It’s way better than using casual ovens. Time saver.Easy to set up easy to use, nothing complicated.Thanks a lot!

A brilliant bit of kit, so easy to use and much quicker and more economic to use, they could provide instructions just to explain what all the symbols mean on the pre programmes, cleaning is simple, we have only manually washed the trays as there is nothing to say they can be cleaned in a dish washer.We are very happy with this and will definitely buy again.

Cooks really well. One thing which is irritating but may be the same on all air fryers. Any thing light can be blown around by the fan. Not ideal for cheese on toast for example.

Brought for my Mother in Law - she already has this model & uses it daily. She wanted to order a replacement as she can operate it very easily & so wondered the same model. The only problem with the current one is the the tray paint/finish is starting to peel but she has had it for over 3 years & uses it daily.

We purchased this as we already had a Ninja but felt it wasnt big enough when cooking for a family of 4 so we picked up one of these to accompany it, its a great little cooker and does everything really evenly and crispy, its really easy to clean and is a good size for doing a few things at once (chips, nuggets etc.)

Really good, easy to understand and the basket is big for bigger portions.

SAFETY ISSUE UPDATE 12/03/24: I have used this item (Salter EK4628 XXL 8L Air Fryer ) for 2 months. I have a safety concern that I would like to share. This Air Fryer basket handle is attached by just two very small bolts to the inner lightweight basket section (without even locking washers). These can become loose in normal usage, and although easy to re-tighten, they could cause the handle to fail. The outer basket part has a separate locking mechanism that keeps it attached to the handle, so when the inner and outer sections are together the worst that would happen is that you lose some bolt parts amongst your food (ouch for your teeth!). If only the inner basket section and the handle are attached, the handle could fail and you have the basket and contents on the floor with the handle in your hand. Unfortunately because of this, I have to mark this item down from my original 5* assessment.This 8l Air Fryer is large enough for a medium chicken.Has attractive black and silver design, and it seems well built.Easy to clean, just a simple wipe with kitchen towel after use.Three year manufacturer warranty, if you register the product on the Salter website within 30-days of purchase.I got this at a discounted price (£55) which I think is very good value.
