Thorough introduction to M&A
A very good intro to the whole sphere of M&A. Can't think of too many issues that were omitted. My interest was in how to identify companies that could be takeover targets, and I found several pointers in here that were helpful. All in all, a great book and I wish I'd had it decades ago.

Zero-sum game?
A big heavy book for in depth understanding of M&A but beware that you'll end up wondering why you work in M&A if it is really a zero sum game...

Very good, parctical, and full of real life deals
I had this book for my M&A class at an elite university. The instructor who recommended the book to be taught in the class was a CEO of company. He made and reviewed plenty of M&A deals. I have to tell you he made the right recommendation. This book is very practical, easy to read and to follow; it provides examples of real deals. I loved it.

Very rich - very analytical
Definitely an impressive book, fruit of a rich experience of the author. Every single item is documented. The structure also is very clear enabling to come back later on and pick-up the info you just need. Most of the info remains valid today, despite the book was edited 10 years ago.

Applied Mergers and Acquisitions is an excellent and very readable book on the subject of M&A written by a knowledgeable author who has been in the trenches. From the basics of this field to the technical details of mergers and acquisitions, this book can serve as a handy reference guide to M&A for every practitioner "who always wanted to know more about M&A but was afraid to ask."

Hard to find chapters
One problem is the book doesn't show the chapter number on the top of each page. Have to read the contents every time...

TOUGH SUBJECT MADE EASIER TO UNDERSTAND
VERY COMPREHANSIVE.....THE AUTHOUR`S MASTERY OF THE SUBJECT MATTER IS REFLECTED IN EVERY PAGE,I LOVE THE FACT THAT HE RE EMPHISIZED THAT MOST MERGERS DONT WORK OUT AS IT WAS PLANNED.INDEED MOST MERGERS DO FAIL. MERGING IS JUST LIKE PIPE FITTING ,IT REQUIRES SPETIALTY TOOLS AND SKILLS.
