Bought this and never got to use it! I came in the mail (UPS) in a box with no padding and I put it in my trucks back seat. Product was so old that the seal was rotted. The lid came loose in the unopened box and it leaked all over the floor of the truck. I spent 3 hour soaking up the leaked product and shampooing the carpet. Contacted the company and they never returned my email. I cant tell you how the product works. If I could give it 0 starts I would. DO NOT BUY this product.The company contacted me just after I wrote this review. They shipped me another gallon. I had it within 3 days. This stuff is amazing. I sprayed it on the lower units and let it sit. Sprayed off with power washer. There was some removal of the barnacles. The BARNACLEX foams as it eats away at the barnacles. I sprayed it about 10 more times through out the next two weeks washing off with the power washer. The barnacles are gone!I did have to scrape the majority off the the barnacles bodies off before I started this process. This stuff works if you are patient.

This is crap - it does not work - don't buy it.I live in the NW, and have a boat in the Puget Sound. I bought the Barnacle X dissolver, and it simply does not work.Here is the quick scenario - I had barnacles on my boat, on the outdrive and hull. I power washed the barnacles off, then applied Barnacle X at full strength to attempt to remove the barnacle "adhesive" which remains after you power wash or scrape the barnacle off. I applied the dissolver at full strength with a garden pump sprayer, waited 30 minutes, applied again, waited 30 minutes, and applied again. Then I washed the hull and outdrive. Barnacle X had zero effect in dissolving/removing the barnacle adhesive. I did the sequence twice. No effect.My opinion is that the product does not work, and even worse, Amazon will not take a return of such "hazardous" products.Don't waste your money or time. If a zero star rating was possible, it would be a zero.

Okay. This is not like on -off. When you wipe product on a barnacle that has been removed it has a reaction to the glue. Yes. Multiple applications take the fight out of the barnacle. Here’s what I did. Wet a rag or cotton ball with product soaked on it. Then I used blue masking tape to form a band-aid. Over night. Barnacle glue comes off very easily.
