New Year's Eve will never be the same
This is it! The epitome of epitomes! The pinnacle of pinnacles! La creme de la creme of flamboyant glory! Pop the bubbly with the buttocks of a saber! This is more than a tiny bit of ostentatious delight. And drattit, it really works! No, this is not sharp, not at all. I suppose if you’re just determined to skewer someone with it, you could, but it is not built for skewering the neighbors. It is quite dull, and it has a single purpose: to open bottles of champagne. It needs to look the part, and this one does. It’s quite nice looking and clearly of good quality. It needs to be solid, and is; it’s a full tang saber and it has some weight. It’s meant to last. Of course it should be well-balanced (just think about that) and it is. This is a fine champagne saber. New Year’s Eve will never be the same.

Who Doesn't Need a Champagne Saber?
I bought this just so that I could go to a party with 2 bottles of champagne and saber them in front of my friends! Everyone thought that I was crazy when I showed up...no one had ever heard of the practice. Both bottles opened like a charm. Everyone was sooo happy, and excited! If you have any kind of social life at all, then buy one of these. You won't regret it!

If you've never sabered a champagne bottle, this saber will do it!
So, if you've got a flair for the dramatic, you probably know how to saber a bottle of champagne. As a matter of fact, I think Alton Brown even did part of an episode on it. I'm not going to explain how to do it, as this saber comes with thorough instructions. It comes in a nice presentation box, and the blade itself is covered in a plastic sheath, presumably to prevent it from being damaged during shipping. The edge itself is not very sharp, but that's not really relevant, as you use the blunt edge anyway to take off the top of the champagne. This saber also has enough weight do do the job pretty easily. So, if you follow the directions, take safety precautions (Wear some type of eye protection) you'll have a pretty cool presentation for your next bottle of bubbly!

Beautiful "ceremonial" saber
Really like the presentation/package it came with. The knife comes in a nice sturdy wooden box like a mini crate with a sliding lid to reveal a beautiful saber with a glossy marble-finish handle and gold accent. The tip is sharp so be careful lest you cut yourself; and it comes with a brief but detailed instruction on how to use which is nice.I can see that it'd spice up a gathering or party... I would not recommend pulling this out on a first date if it's at your house though. Pulling a knife out on a first date at your place would probably send... mixed messages.
