The Perfect Solution
The 402 Stainless Steel Cabinet Restraint Kit is an awesome product. It is 100% as described, is solidly built, and comes with very easy-to-follow instructions. Our newly installed 'overlay' cabinet doors basically opened too far (110 degrees), striking neighboring objects like the refrigerator. We tried installing plastic "hinge restrictors" which did not work (kept falling out) and then stumbled across this terrific product. You need a very basic skillset and tools (Phillips screwdriver and a drill with a 1/8" bit) and if you follow the instructions carefully, this product works exactly as advertised. That said - our cabinets presented a couple of unique situations that required just a tiny bit of ingenuity to figure out workarounds, and I have attached photos of these. In the first example, the "overlay" portion of the door did not provide enough real estate to drill and install the required screw in the proper place without resulting in either the door not fully closing (if I had drilled high) or the screw poking through the front of the shallow inlay panel (if I had drilled low). So common sense dictated that I deviate from the instructions by attaching the "long" end of the cable to the cabinet frame and the short end to the door. It's not a 100% ideal setup - in fact, to be clear, the instructions explicitly show that you should NOT install it in this way - but it does restrain the door 100% as needed, and the trivial inconvenience of having a small amount of the door opening taken up by the cable is a worthwhile tradeoff. In the second example, our cabinet installer had attached a soft-closing door mechanism right where the cable should be attached. There was still enough room to install the cable next to it, but the adjacent self-closing mechanism interfered with the ability of the cable attachment to pivot away when the door closes, with the result that it protruded straight out, preventing the door from closing fully. (This description may not make sense on first read, but if you first read the instructions that come with the product it will). So in this case, I simply used 2 pairs of pliers to gently bend the "loop" part of the cable attachment just far enough to clear the soft-close mechanism and swivel as needed to allow the door to close.I mention these things not to detract in any way from the product or the instructions that came with it, which are completely on-point for "standard" situations, but just to illustrate that every installation is different, and as with any product, sometimes a little tweak is necessary to get the intended result. Your mileage will no doubt vary.Overall, I highly recommend this product on every measure - value for the price, quality of the materials, accuracy of all descriptive materials and instructions. If you have a "cabinet door opens too wide" problem, you should buy this product.

Perfect solution!
Such a simple, yet elegant solution for my cabinet handles banging into the side wall! Sturdily built with no issues since I installed them 6 years ago.

Well made solution for controlling a door
We had a wooden furnace door that could open full swing and needless to say the outer side got smashed in a few times. Problem solved. Great product, well made and easy directions to follow. Plus they are stainless steel and well last a long time.

Works great
Have a few kitchen cabinets that hit the fridge and one that hits the wall when opened fully. This is a great solution. I’m sure they will break if the door is opened too forcefully but they are very well made and so far work great. When closed the cable drops out of the way nicely.

Great Quality Option!
Like the description states, this option takes out much of the guess work, and provides you with more options than the 86° hidden hinge restrictors, and it should work for virtually every situation. Well constructed, from high quality stainless steel materials, right here in the USA, with a lifetime warranty. I just wish the mounting screws were also stainless steel. Be sure to look over the instructions carefully, and pay special attention to the angle you plan to install the cable. You may need to adjust the placement on the back of the door (to more than 7 inches from the hinge) in order to maintain a more acute angle, as illustrated in the manual. I was also able to position mine a little lower than the suggested 1 inch from the top, so it lands inside the cabinet opening. Your situation may vary. Measure first, then drill!!!

Fantastic, easy to install solution to a real problem.
Terrific product that was super easy to install. Their online video showing installation is worth viewing. It took me longer to gather up the few tools needed for the install than the actual installation of the cable. We had installed new kitchen cabinets and the plastic restriction clips on the hinge didn't prevent the doors from flexing when opening, resulting in the ceiling fan blades and the cabinet door connecting. This was the perfect solution. It looks good, it works perfectly, it was easy to install.
