SicceVoyager HP 9 Stream Pump - freshwater and saltwater application, for submerged use|3600 GPH

Pump works as quite well. It is small so doesn't take up much space and it's quiet. Magnets barely hold on 1/2 glass, nudge it and it falls off. I paid double because I did not want suction cups as they sometimes fall off, this is worse. I backed it up with another magnet. Works great on glass smaller than 1/2 inch.

It's popular because it's easy to clean. Quiet, power efficient, high quality. What's not to like. I bounce the flow off the back of my 36 gallon bowfront otherwise quite a strong current.

I received this pump April 15 2021, installed it April 16 2021. It started making a rattling noise May 4 2021 and stopped working May 5 2021. I wouldn't buy this product again.

My setup is designed to mimic a river using rocks and driftwood in the center of the tank and a slow current going around the tank (see video). I only wanted the tank half-filled so I can insert some terrestrial plants as well. I needed a small circulation pump, both in size and flow rate and this one worked perfectly for my application. It is also very quiet. I do unplug it when I feed the fish so the food doesn't get blown everywhere. Overall, this was perfect for the size and application. See video for a better idea.

I used this in a Biocube16 and it just seemed much too powerful. Whatever coral was near where it was pointing just got hammered by constant laminar flow. I had read it is supposed to provide wide gentle flow, but it seems more directional and laminar, just blasting anything in its wake. Maybe in a bigger tank or a tank with a more open setup this would work, but for me it seems too powerful for a tank it should be ok in. After 2 months of fiddling with it trying different angles and placements I am throwing in the towel and trying something different. The gray color looks like a big eye sore against my black background too. Not really the fault of the device, it works great and is pretty quiet, but I wish these companies would provide a better and more accurate description of the flow you will be getting.
