Great to use a case fan for other purposes
I have a T-mobile internet device that is my port to the world. It gets excessively hot. I have many computer case fans hanging around. None of these have RGB, so why list on ebay when I can cool this t-mile trash-can-looking internet access point. I have this cable plugged into a USB port on my computer, the other end goes to a Noiseblocker 120mm fan, and I put that on top of the T-mobile garbage-can-O-internet to cool it down. It works perfectly and silently. The short cable length really does not matter because all case fans come with comically long cords attached. Use a silent fan though. I put an old Corsair on here, and I could hear it. The Noiseblocker works great and the device never overheated. I actually bought two more just for future projects.

Excellent Adaptor
Used for adding a Noctua case fan to a DVR for cooling

Used this to connect a PC fan to my WiFi router to cool the router better
I bought this to connect a PC fan to a wireless router. Did the trick just fine - I plugged the USB end into the USB port on the router (originally designed for a printer or hard drive) and then plugged the fan into the adapter. I set the fan on top of the router and it helped keep the router cooler.

Works for my purposes
Cable is of decent quality and works for my intended purposes. Used this with an old 80mm fan to add some active cooling to my Raspberry Pi as it only had passive heatsinks on the RAM and SOC. Dropped my temps 15-20C depending on ambient temp. Since these cables really just convert a case fan into running off 5V (which will also be lower RPM), keep in mind that not all case fans will run off 5V. You may need to try a few fans to see which will work off of 5V as PC case fans are generally only rated for 12V, so some may not even start up at all. There are some fans engineered to run at full speeds from 5V (Noctua offers some 5V models for example), but this was a slightly cheaper option and I didn’t need the full speed from 12V for my purposes. I’m using this with an Arctic F8 80mm fan fwiw, connected directly to the Raspberry Pi USB port.

No Variable Speed
I’d like to say that it’s a great product there is just one thing... it doesn’t have a potentiometer. It makes my fans spin at around 4-500 rpm and at that speed Cooler master AIO fans aren’t pushing much but besides that AMAZING
