Decent material for a toy
Got it for my 10 year old. He loved the color, size and shape of it. I was surprised that you had to assemble it upon delivery. We were missing one of the pieces listed on the inventory. I'm pretty sure it was necessary as the handle keeps comingapart. I will be returning it.

Great detail and plastic, cheap wood.
I got my sword a few days ago, it’s the most recent addition to my pretty large bamboo sword collection. And to my surprise it’s also the lowest quality katana I’ve purchased. It seemed great when putting together and first time holding it after assembly, but I noticed after just a bit of swinging (just through the air not at anything) it became loose. I have the right supplies so I was able to make it more sturdy, but just from comparing weight and quality of the wood used to others I’ve gotten here on Amazon, it is easily the cheapest. On the plus side, the detail is good and the hard plastic they use is also top tier.
