They are inside a cardboard box fitted with a foam form that separates each weight in an individual slot, like in pictures of other glass weights.

Q: Has anyone seen blotchy-looking chemicals floating on top of their ferments (leaching from the weights)? I heard that some China brands can leach.

Mine are clear solid glass. Never heard of blotchy-looking chemicals leaching from glass. Have fermented for years. The only floating things are pieces of vegetables or spices. If you are worried, go back to using a rock.

Q: Is it heat resistant? can be used for sous vide?

I don't know the answer, because I've never used the weights that way, but I imagine they would be suitable. They are very heavy, high quality glass. And sous vide uses low heat, doesn't it? So I would say probably yes.
