Since retiring, we've been doing a lot of travel. I decided to upgrade my luggage to something really light weight due to airline restrictions for checked baggage. I also hoped to start using a slightly smaller bag for long, international trips because it would be easier manage through hotels and airports. I had a chance to try the new bags out during a recent 2 week trip to Aruba - and everything worked perfectly!I travel with Cpap machine, and prefer to put it into my checked bag. Unfortunately, this is heavy and takes up a LOT of space. I usually pack more stuff than I really need, shop more than I should, and then worry about having an over-weight bag coming home. The problem was solved by using the medium, 24" bag and a lot of packing cubes. In addition, I took a small Samsponite "under-seat" wheeled bag as a carry-on and a Travelon purse as my "personal item". The under-seat bag had a strap to slip over the handle of the Lucas suitcase for trolleying - but I wondered if that might be too much weight for the handle and wheels. No problem! I loved how it all worked together, wheeled easily, and never tipped over! To make things even easier after the bag was checked, I could slip the Travelon purse over the handle of the carry on and just wheel those through the airports. During the trip, I bought quite a few souvenirs, so the expansion zippers came in handy. (Having those clearly marked was a surprisingly nice feature.) I had the 24" Lucas bag FULLY loaded, utilized every possible inch of space, and had everything compressed by packing cubes. Even so, I didn't have to worry about a weight limit and came in at just 42 lbs. Once we were home, I looked over all the bags carefully for any scuffs or damage - and everything still looked brand new. I'm really impressed with the quality and functionality of the Lucas bags and would highly recommend!UPDATE 2020: Since writing my previous review, these bags have been used on trips through Europe, on a Mexico cruise, two trips to Hawaii, and on multiple domestic flights. The fabric shows absolutely NO sign of wear, and the wheels all work perfectly. When traveling, I piggy-back my Samsonite carry-on to my main suitcase to drag it through airports and hotels. Once my larger bag is checked, I wheel my carry-on to the gate with a large "Purse" draped over the handle. I worried a bit about the lightweight Lucas bag handles eventually warping a big with the weight or about the bags tipping over. So far, that hasn't been a problem at all. The only apparent "damage" to these bags has been that a front pocket zipper-pull was broken off. Considering the usage they've gotten, that seems pretty minor. One more asset - the blue plaid pattern is always SUPER easy to spot when claiming your bag! BUY THESE BAGS! You won't regret it!

First air trip with this luggage (which was fairly pricey for me), and the vinyl piping around a corner is already threatening to pop its stitches out. I know airlines are hard on checked luggage, but I didn't expect a problem when they had only been loaded and unloaded ONCE, and they were brand-new! Am I disappointed? Yes. I also have no idea where I could take it for repair, either (the largest bag of the trio), or how to repair it myself, which makes it even worse.Perhaps I will have to change to all hard-sided spinner luggage, but I really do not want to do that, to be honest. We'll see how this holds up on next trip which is less than a month away, I suppose?

We purchased the blue pattered version and it was a little heavier than we expected. I suspect the weights listed are for the black version. These are still very much lighter than our old luggage so very happy we purchased.We absolutely love this luggage, definitely of very high quality. Two flights and a cruise and no visible marks at all. The only missing feature was the lack of internal pockets other than a singe flat pocket under the lid. We purchased some packing cubes to make up for that and are now huge fan of those. The packing cubes make organizing your contents so much easier. The balance of the bags are so much better than our old ones which tended to tip over easily. They roll nicely and look very sharp.

I absolutely Love Lucas luggage, but this set is very disappointing. The smallest suitcase was ripped, well looks more like a slice! About a 4” gash in the side that goes clear through to the lining. The front lower pocket on the large suitcase looks like it’s about to rip. First use and I’m down the smallest suitcase and have a feeling it won’t take many trips for the big one to be junked :(

I have contacted the warranty company twice on the same complaint. I receive a return email asking for more pictures which I send then never hear from them again. This is a lifetime warranty. A suitcase used 3 times needs to be repaired or replaced.
