It is made of a lightweight plastic, easily put together. I think putting the cover on was harder than assembling the steps. Perfect for our mini doxie. Worth the money. Not sure about the washability of the cover but generally I take them outside and spray them down and sun dry them.

The pieces don't fit together square. Had to force to fit bit appears it will work. The worst part is the SMELL of the cover. It stinks so bad! Not sure we will be able to use. It is currently sitting on the patio trying to get it aired out. I can't have it in the bedroom with me for sure. It was cheap and I guess you get what you pay for. Wasn't sure our pet would use it and didn't want to spend a lot of money. Would NOT recommend!

I have a small dog but she struggles using the stairs because they aren't quite deep enough. She ended up teaching herself to jump high enough to reach the bed. Easy to assemble and looks cute though.

The parts for the base did not align correctly. The edges were bubbled so they didn't fit together. I had to use a small hammer to get them to all fit together. The cover was not measured correctly to fit the stairs. I am unable to zip it up because it doesn't fit.My dog is able to use it ans the stairs arw sturdy enough to hold him. (25 pounds). If i didn't need a hammer to put the parts together or needed it to help him get ip on the couch, I would have returned it as the overall product did not meet my satisfaction for thw price 2i paid.

I bought this product for my dog. She weighs about 4 1/2 pounds and is starting to have a hard time getting up on the couch and the bed. I put the product together the way the directions said to and secured everything and put the cover over it, and the first time she stepped on the bottom step it collapsed. I have tried to put it together at least four times, and the same thing continues to happen. Would not recommend.

I have a three legged cat who has trouble getting on the beds at night. However, He loves to sleep with his people. These stairs are the perfect size to help him get up on the bed easier. My other cats love it too. It is a wonderful height for him and it is sturdy enough that my 20 lbs cat can use it. The only thing is it can be a bit tricky to get all the pieces to stay in their notches without using my fist to kind of beat it into place. But that was no big problem once I knew I needed to do that.
