After reading some of the poorer reviews, I was leery of ordering online but these turned out better than I expected. The aroma is amazing and there were very few broken pieces. I use them in a homemade simmering potpourri, so they have to be aromatic. When the time comes, I will order again!

I’m writing to tell you that this product is mixed with Japanese star anise, a potent neurotoxin. Unlike Chinese star anise which is used as seasoning/spice, tea, and herbal medicine, Japanese Star Anise can kill you. It has been marketed as Chinese Star Anise tea before and lead to death.I have contacted the seller in order to secure a refund, After learning that the seller does not Accept returns. I have not heard anything back yet. And hope this seller 1). Stops selling fraudulent and dangerous Japanese Star Anise 2). Refunds the two pounds of product I purchased.

I don’t use these to know the flavor, I use them for protection sachets I make. They smell amazing and were all in perfect little stars! None were broken !

Very good quality. Used for homemade sachets with essential oils. Anise ordor strong and fresh. 98% stars intact.

Used this for the first time. Started to use it for some of the health benefits. But, because the tea I make with it smells and tastes so good, I’m not sure nor do I care what health benefits I getting. A warm cup of its tea, feels so good!

The stars vary in size from small to medium, and many are broken or misshaped, compared to other star anise I have had, so one star off for that. That said, they are fragrant and brew up well.
