Do not buy!
I wish I never bought this and actually read the reviews, this is so bad. I’ve been a silver smith for 5 years and was trying to make my life easier with a pre cut solder chips, this is complete garbage! Its takes for ever to flow, I’m using the correct heat with the right flux too, and when it does finally flow it eats a hole in the silver or leaves a noticeable mark/dent in the silver. Don’t waste your money, so disappointed!

sent wrong color
I ordered the silver solder but got the gold version instead. My teacher says I might be able to use it with brass on projects, but definitely won't work with silver bezel wire. Not going to return it - curious to see how it works.

Not real silver solder.
My overall review is that this product is not what is advertised. The chips do not flow like real silver solder. I haven’t used the wires, but they seem thicker and stiffer than what I’ve used. If you work in silver then don’t waste your money. If you work in brass or copper and in a bind for time, it should suffice.I ordered this bc I am in a class and needed materials asap for a project. Fortunately it was mostly copper with not much silver. If you are working in brass or copper, this will work well enough, but expect some frustration, and it won’t be the tidiest work you’ve done, but will get the job done. On my mixed piece it was a pain. A little backstory: for my first assignment I was given a bag of mystery materials and had to produce something using only what was provided besides solder. I used 24 gauge copper for the backplate and I have no idea what gauge wire for the bail. I debated pulling it to make it thinner, but was stressed about getting it done so I ignored my better judgement. When I attached the bail it wasn’t straight and that’s where my real issues with this solder came to light. I had used the easy solder but when I tried to reheat to replace the bail, it didn’t come undone as usual, it got very red and hot but wouldn’t release even using the tongs to try to tap it loose, and I melted part of the bail (it was fixable), and the hard solder I used for the bezel melted and pooled.

Melting points are way off
This stuff is inconsistent as heck. Completely ruined a piece after 6 hrs of work because it would not melt and flow at the proper temp. This stuff is complete garbage! The pic shows the issue. The silver (melting point of 1763 deg f is degrading while the supposed 1325 deg f solder is still mostly intact.Buy this stuff at your own risk.
