I use this to massage my feet when they cramp or I feel like pins and needles are sticking me in them. It works pretty quickly and it smells good.

Love the way the peppermint eases my scalp and the growth.

This is my first time using any type of caster oil based moisturizing product and I wasn't sure what to expect. Since is is listed as a "butter", I did expect it to be more like a very thick cream. Instead, it is extremely thick, more like a soft soy-based wax candle. I don't pick up the peppermint at all, in all honesty. Which is a bit disappointing. Really, I don't pick up any real scent. The label lists that it could be used on your scalp or hair but I'm not even going to consider that. I'm using it on my elbows,feet, and a spot on my leg with a skin problem and it's working great on those areas. Problem is - I can't get the butter washed off my hands. I try to soften a small amount in my hands for easier application but I don't want it to stay on my hands, and washing with hand soap doesn't work. I have to use either dish soap or shampoo to get it off my hands. Good product but I'll probably start wearing disposable gloves or using a sandwich bag on my hands when applying. It seems to asorbs somewhat but I can definitely feel a greasy film on my skin where I've applied it. Not something I want to apply at bedtime, and have it smeared across my bedding. Will be great to use while wearing socks on feet, & a sweat shirt/pants. The price seems reasonable but I'm not going to be ordering more. Please read the other reviews before making your decision.

Alright. I've definitely used castor oil before, but not black castor oil. This is really different than what I expected. The castor oil I'm used to is liquid; this is a semi-solid, like Vaseline. Regardless, I like it a lot, it was just a shock to see the difference.It's not black, but it does have a slight grayish color. Unlike Vaseline, this is waxy and a little sticky. I have eczema and I rubbed this over my chest and stomach where the skin flaking and rashes are problematic. It soothed the skin and it was hydrating enough to stop the flaking. My skin likes it.The downside is that it leaves a sticky residue that doesn't absorb. It's nice in its own way, because it stays "moist," but it's a little icky to touch. Definitely something I'd only use before bed or when staying home all day. The other bummer is that it's REALLY hard to smooth it over the skin in a thin, even layer because it's tacky and it just doesn't slide across the skin.I'm giving it five stars anyway because... PEPPERMINT OIL! That is a truly wonderful addition to this product. When I rubbed it over my chest and stomach, it took a few minutes for the peppermint to soak in enough to feel the chill, but once it started, it lasted for quite a while. The slow distribution of the peppermint makes it a more penetrating product. This rivals some of my peppermint pain creams.There's only 4 ounces here, so not a huge quantity, but I didn't need much. It arrives in a thick glass jar. The current price of $10 seems fair.

I love castor oil and use a lot of it, but rarely for my hair. I've never seen or used castor oil "butter" before and I think it's very interesting. All the oils in this product are normally liquid at room temperature so I'm not sure how they got this to have a butter-like consistency. Maybe some beeswax or something was added but it's not on the list of ingredients. I really like the peppermint scent this castor oil butter has as tea tree is one of my favorite scents. I think this is a very good castor oil product.
