This is the easiest to clean and maintain fountain I've used and I've tried several over the years. I got two for our senior cat who is in kidney failure. She seems to like the water flow of this fountain more than any other. I got the second one so I could easily swap out fountains for cleaning and she wouldn't have to go without a fountain while the other is getting cleaned. **Clean these often! Biofilm develops on all parts of any pet fountain and is dangerous for your pet's health.If I clean it weekly, I just throw the metal parts in the dishwasher. If I go any longer, I give it a good scrub. The filter parts are easy to clean by hand and the filters are easy to replace on Amazon. I will reuse the black foam filter longer (wraps around the base} than the blue filter part. I give it a good soapy wash and rinse first. If you have hard water like me, use Barkeepers Helper to give any calcium deposits off the metal.

We ordered this for our rescue kitty. Many cats don't like standing water they like to drink from "fresh" water. It's important to keep their water away from or separate from their food too. It is important that your kitty drink water. This keeps the water moving and it is so so quiet! The water flow is so gentle it does not get the floor or surrounding area wet. It is the right height for an adult cat, but it is sturdy enough kittens could get up to it too. It is stainless steel so it should keep the water cleaner and be easier to clean than plastic. This product also lights up softly at night so humans can see where it is in the dark and not trip over it or knock it over. It was a little tricky to assemble because the directions are not written well, but you'll figure it out. Our rescue kitty loves it and it's helping to keep him hydrated and healthy! Good product!

The cats are attracted to the moving water. The fountain is easy to clean. When the water level starts to go down, after a day or two, the fountain is noisier from the water splashing. You don't have to open it to add water. Just pour water into the top.

I’ve been using this fountain for my cat for months now, and haven’t had any issues. I clean it once a week, and it still runs really well. I do this they provided and bigger brush cleaner so that it wouldn’t be as hard to handle, but that it my only complaint. It’s very quiet unless there isn’t enough water in the reservoir. Great product!

The media could not be loaded.  I really liked the plastic fountain I had but one of my cats is very sensitive and was getting chin acne, so needs stainless or ceramic. I also wanted a large reservoir as I live in the desert and the water does evaporate. This fountain makes a light trickling sound when filled to “max” and a proper water fountain sound when lower. Took a video for those concerned about sound. It’s not a bad sound to me, plus it’s in my kitchen so I don’t mind it.The reservoir is pretty large which will be good if I do an overnight away.Here’s hoping for no more cat acne!
