Great Coffee Table Book
We were on a cruise and Mt husband was looking for a book he could peruse without really having to read (he used large print books and there weren't many of those around). He found this book and really enjoyed it. So we decided to do the right thing and buy it rather than steal their copy!

Poor quality paper and image reproduction
Good WHS coverage but a large and heavy book with not a lot in it and too much empty space. Extremely matt finish on heavy paper does not show the photographs well. I have been to Samarkand (pages 232 and 233) and the photographs do not do it justice. The UNESCO produced book is a better buy. It would also have helped if the index had been split between the sites and other references, and the sites then split between main entries and minor references. One for the charity shop pile.

Inspiring
This book is well presented and offers inspiring and informative descriptions of many of the wonders of the world. It makes me want to get out there and travel again immediately. Highly recommend.
