picture quality is super. Easy to mount and great that it connects directly to wifi!

One broke in less that a year
Was great until one of the three units broke and wouldn’t charge after less than a year

Would Like these a lot More if there was Better Local Storage Support
The cameras themselves are decent. I got them for indoor use and they seem to work well for the most part. I got the three pack and only received 2 of the magnetic wall mounts and a third kind of manual rotating swivel mount. Would have liked a third magnetic mount instead in my personal case, but I can see how some people might like the variety. The magnetic mounts are nice because you can use them as stands in the house to angle them as needed in different orientations while still keeping them stable. The design of these is also nice because if you DON'T need it angled, and level is good, they will still stand on their own without the mount. The picture quality is great, the siren is nice and loud, and the spotlight is bright but also adjustable so you can dial it in. Some of the cons in my opinion, is that the night vision is OK, the cheaper cameras that I had that these are replacing had better night vision quality in my opinion. The depth of the clarity isn't super far in night vision recording so some of the deeper areas get a little lost in darkness. Also, it triggers way too easily. Even at night if I have a couple of lights on, they will still be in night vision mode when if I switch to color, it still looks nice and clear, so they are a little sensitive. Additionally, I got the base station for these for additional local storage, and you can't easily view the footage without being connected on the same network on the app. It seems like local storage was kind of a back-thought on the whole thing, and they're pushing more for the subscription services. The older cameras I had could easily access the footage on the app they had so I was kind of hoping for the same use for a more expensive and better known company, but it is what it is. Hopefully down the line this might change. All in all though, I will still be using these because I'm kind of invested at this point, but would still recommend. As a whole, it's still a good product!

Upgrading from Arlo Pro 2 - the good & bad
Ive had a set of Arlo Pro 1 and Pro 2 for a few years and have been generally happy with them. I wanted to get rid of the base station and was excited to see Arlo Pro 4 didnt require one, so I bought the 3 pack. The good: Resolution was significantly better than the pro 1 or 2, I was really impressed with image quality, big upgrade. The bad: One unit had a red tint appear (it made my grass look pink) after a few days. Factory reset fixed it. The same unit then started randomly disconnecting from my wifi network (even in locations where other arlos worked). I have an excellent mesh network (Amplifi Alien) with multiple devices farther than the arlo that never lose connection. I am in the process of RMAing that unit. Yesterday, another of the three disconnected as well. The biggest problem is, if they disconnect from wifi, they require a hard reset (climb ladder, remove battery, put it back in). They will not automatically re-connect - to me that is crazy. They should try even if its just once an hour to reconnect. It is going to be such a hassle if it keeps happening. The 3rd unit has been solid for 2 weeks.Other stuff: Battery life seems similar to Pro 1&2. I disabled the spotlight feature because it didnt seem to really improve image quality if there was a distance between the arlo and the ground (I had my out a 2nd floor window, and above the garage). I like the new magnetic mounts on these better than the pro 1&2.Im still waiting to make my final assessment. All the image quality upgrades in the world dont matter if basic functionality like connectivity doesnt work. Maybe it could be solved with a firmware update that tries to reconnect them to wifi if they drop for some reason? Overall I would say my initial impression is not good, compared to the stability I experienced for years with pro1/2**Edit May 6, 2021**Raising from 2 stars to 3 stars. I RMA'd the one that constantly disconnects. The replacement has been going strong for over a week with no disconnects. The troubleshooting process to get to an RMA took a long time via email (they had a lot of troubleshooting steps). They then asked me to pay for the shipping to ship it back, which I thought was pretty crummy given that they were less than a month old and I was trying to work with them to solve the problem, rather than returning everything to Amazon. They relented after I told them I didnt feel it was right to have to pay, and they paid shipping. If they continue to be stable, I will for sure raise my review another star or two.***update March 2023***Raised to 4 stars. Bought another two. They’ve all been stable and great for 2 years!

Nice … but …
Cameras work fine until they don’t.I have had an on going problem with one of the 3 cameras.I have done everything in my control that tech support has asked with no change to my issue. The camera is under warranty but they will not replace it.I went from Nest cameras to Alro. Biggest mistake I could have made.Arlo camera are pretty much worthless unless you subscribe to their monthly monitoring. I can live with that, what I can’t live with is the difficulty of replacing a faulty camera.I will never purchase another Arlo product and would never recommend them to anyone. If you buy them, good luck to you. I hope you never have to deal with their tech support.
