Easy read
I saw academic rivals to lovers and I had to have it, and this book did not disappoint. The cover is so pretty and the writing style made this book so easy to read. The dual-pov made knowing and loving the characters so easy. The development of the romantic relationship was a slow burn, but so perfect. The developments of all the relationships involved made this book an absolute delight to read.Bel was so witty and quirky. I loved when I found out that she's half-Filipino too. I've never read a book where the main character was at least a little similar to me. This book had so much diversity in general, which was perfect. The girl power in this book was great. STEM can be such a hard area for women to want to go into, and this book highlighted perfectly why. The only thing I would have liked more would be more Bel and Teo. I would so so recommend this book.Thank you NetGalley for an ARC of this book. All views expressed in this review are completely my own.Bel would rather die than think about the future. College apps? Extracurriculars? No thanks. But when she accidentally reveals a talent for engineering at school, she’s basically forced into joining the robotics club. Even worse? Everyone on the team ignores her, apart from Teo Luna. Unfortunately they clash a little when it comes to building bots. As the nights of after-school work grow longer and longer, Bel and Teo realize they've made more than just a combat-ready robot for the championship: they’ve made each other and the team better. Because girls do belong in STEM.

Cute!
I enjoyed this book, but I just didn’t love it. I really enjoyed the fact that this book touched on misogyny and how girls deal with this on a daily basis starting from school age. I really liked both Bel and Mateo but sometimes I felt like the relationship between them wasn’t as developed as I wanted it to be. I did feel as if it was just a little bit immature at times when certain things were discussed and I felt like some issues that did happen didn’t need to and it was all just a miscommunication which I didn’t like at all. But overall it was just an alright book and if you want a easy, quick read I would recommend.

A great STEM romance
In the modern world of female led STEM books very few have POC leads. Bel and Teo are a breath of fresh air with bringing their culture to the story. The robotics club was great and the friendships the characters had felt so natural, as did the budding romance. I would highly recommend this book for anybody who wants to have a richer STEM lead in their life, or to inspire a young friend/family member that being a nerd is cool and to never be shamed of your interests.

LOVED IT SO MUCH!
I enjoyed this so much, so wholesome. I mean, enemies - to lovers in STEM? Everything. Oh & did I mention Taylor swift references? Uh huh.

Lovely writing and a sweet romance
This was just really lovely. The writing style was really funny and engaging, and it was really easy to read. It had a bit of a slow start but once I was past that I was all-in - I just thoroughly enjoyed it. I liked Bel and Teo, both as individual characters and as a couple; her quirkiness and individuality was really nice as was her hints of vulnerability, and I liked seeing Teo’s stiffness soften as he began to develop a bond with Bel.The plot was good as well - it was very simple but never slipped into being dull, and I thought the conflict between Bel and Teo and their respective families was worked in quite nicely. Nothing felt forced - it all felt very natural. The romance was very sweet and cute, and I liked how the final conflict between them was negotiated. As a whole the book was just really lovely and sweet - a real joy to read and I just loved it. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for providing a free copy of this book.

I had high expectations
I had high expectations for this, but for the first fifty pages, I was in agony. The characters were just atrocious, with some having very unnecessary personalities that didn't add much to the book and only served to frustrate. You could not tell where the plot was going in the first few pages. It had no background whatsoever and the lack of atmosphere almost made me want to quit reading. It only got better closer to the end, after some initial character introductions and adding some various settings.
