Seeding Straw with Tackifier, 2.5 cu ft (up to 500 Square Foot Coverage)

I used this to cover grass seed in an area that was a bit over 300 sq ft. It worked very well. Grass seed is doing wonderful. And I have like 3 things growing in the entire area that don't look like grass, which may or may not have come from this (though less likely, they could have been from the seed).I'm extremely happy and it has done better than I was expecting.

I loved this so much that I bought a second bag!I’m growing a large amount of food crops and have mulched my self watering raised beds with this product. I will buy it each year as needed. The small sized cut hay is far easier to apply than long strands of hay.

I would buy this again if it didn't allow grass to grow in my garden. That is my fault however because it does say right on it Seeding straw. It has done great at helping to keep moisture in my raised garden beds. I really like how compact it is in the bag. My husband was surprised how much was packed in there. If you are wanting to grow grass, I would say definitely buy this. If you want straw for your beds probably not the best item.

Use this every year in my garden bed. Love it.

I ordered this and then it snowed a lot in Ohio and took weeks for all the snow to melt. Finally today I was able to use the straw. I also ordered some grass seed to help fill in where my dog has beaten a path. I was very impressed by the fast delivery, the nice packaging, and how clean the straw is. It also smells great. I can see many other uses for plants and animal bedding.

Just don't spread it on too thick if you have tiny seeds. I was doing some white clover and they never made it to the surface. I removed some of the hay material and the seeds were under there sprouted but they never got up top. Real tiny seeds though so I figured maybe just a fluke. The tack part is handy I didn't get what that means until I saw it in action. Once you put this stuff down and water it won't move. I used it to cover some spots in my grass I'm trying to fill and grow back in.

My backyard gets muddy sometimes. I use this during the season changes to reduce the amount of mud my dog tracks in. There’s a ton in there! I spread it throughout my backyard once already and still have enough for 1-2 more rounds. I have a standard sized city backyard. It’s fairly small but big enough for the dog and kids and to play in so it was definitely a great value.

The straw was easy to use as mulch and went down nicely, but I did not expect so much grass seed to be in there! Now I have to weed constantly to prevent the grass from taking hold in my raised beds :( definitely will seek out straw elsewhere.
