Purchase was made from Hirt's Seeds through Amazon.com. The order was processed very quickly and efficiently - seeds arrived in good condition.The Purple Orchid trees have hada 60% success rate which can be considered quite good. Two seeds are nominal in their efforts to continue living right now. The Pink Orchid trees did not germinate at all.Other seeds were purchased at the same time and are being propagated according to the instructions attached. For the most part the instructions are pretty clear and have been easy to follow. The hemlock seeds were not successful at all - several seeds collected from the wild and planted at the same time had better a slightly better success rate. I would say that the overall success level of this tree type is nominal at the best of times.The California Redwood seeds have been phenominal! Nine trees have sprouted and are looking good. They actually grow very quickly and are really fun to watch. I check these trees every day and turn them to keep them growing straight.I am looking forward to the end of the six-eight weeks that other seeds are shut away in the frig for their "chill" period before bringing them out to finish germinating. I will definitely consider using Hirt's Seeds again when purchasing seed for creating into Bonsai specimens.

Got the seeds without planting instructions. I am a novice gardener with a mind willing to learn. Please help.

I bought two packages and none of the twenty seeds germinate. I think they are selling old seeds. I gave one package to my sister (she lives in Florida and she can grow anything) and the seeds didn’t germinate either.

Only had one to germinate and it died. You must be very careful about directions. The seeds are very hard and need to be excoriated and soaked in warm water overnight. I reordered them and will try again.
