Had to change Jets
Installed carb, was running good on muffs so took her to the water. I have Mercruiser 5.0 1999 Maxum 1900sr. She was running fine until I gave her throttle then she was would run lean. So I took apart carb to find 145 jets when my boat calls for 165. Be mindful of your jet size before installing so you don’t get stuck on the water or damage your pistons

High quality replacement carb for Mercruiser 5.0 Engine
When the original carb was failing after its third rebuild I chose this carb to replace it. I was a bit skeptical as to the quality and if it could be trusted, especially on a offshore boat application. To my surprise the quality was every bit as good as the OEM and at a fraction of the price. My only frustration was the fact there was no documentation as to the size of factory installed jets (it is marketed as universal fit for several sizes of small block Chevy base engines and comes with three sets of additional jets, 135, 155, 165). I even posted the installed jetting question before buying and did not receive any response from the seller, manufacturer or others. Upon receiving the carb and seeing the extra jets I should have deduced that given the gap in range 145s were factory, but rather than guess I opened the carb to confirm. I didnt know what size best to tune this engine since the original carb jets were not readable as to the size so I went ahead and installed the new one with the 145s but found these to be too small and the engine lacked higher RPM performance. I then installed the 155s which worked perfect for my application. Other than this jetting change and some easy electric choke connector changes, the install was simple and the engine runs like a fine watch. I would buy this again and would recommend it to others.

Good Choice
I have not installed this but I can see it is a perfect replacement and should hook right up.I do not foresee any issues but if any arise I will be sure to update.I have used several aftermarket carbs and I have found that it is good to give them a once over before use.look in the passages and make sure they are clear, blow some air through it.This just assures there is no crap floating around in there.I have found doing this can save some headaches.I would buy again.5 STARS

Took some doing, but seems to run well.....See revised
After extensive investigation, I decided to get this carburetor. No instructions, no 165 Jets. 135, 145, 155, 180 jets. Used the 180's first and the motor was running way to rich. There were other problems as it turned out. the float level was not even close to correct so the engine ran way rich, eventually drowning in fuel and quitting. Changed to 155's, found that the venturies were dripping fuel, changed to 155's and the same issue. Took the top off again and reset the float height stopping the raw fuel from dumping onto the butterflies. Will update when I take the boat out.Addendum:I could not make this carb. work. It would not idle. The power valve was stuck and it would flood no matter what I did. Checked the float, needle and seat power valve it would not idle with out flooding the engine. While I thought it was my fault, now I do not. It came out of the box looking good, but it was all down hill from there. Had that thing apart at least 12 times.I won't say don't buy, but be ready to put in some work.

carburetor's quality is superb and shows in how my boat runs now.
Game changer for my boat's performance. This carburetor's quality is superb and shows in how my boat runs now.The installation was surprisingly easy, even for someone who is not an experienced mechanic. The instructions were clear and concise, and the parts were well-labeled, making the whole process straightforward. But what impressed me was the performance improvement. My boat now runs smoother and more efficiently than ever before. In addition, the Marine Carburetor Replacement has increased my boat's power and fuel efficiency and has eliminated the issues I was previously experiencing with hesitation and stalling.

Product is surprisingly decent, but not plug and play
Seems to be a good product. Keep in mind you will have to install the correct metering jets(included). I took apart and inspected before operation, and I had to lubricate the fuel float needle valve because it was really dry and sticking. My engine (5.7 Mercruiser) requires 165 jets which were not included. I installed the carb with the 155's until I can order the correct parts. For the price it's a pretty good option. Sierra reman. Runs $630
