Product Description Experience C.S. Lewis' profound journey from vigorous debunker of Christianity to become, as he said, "the most reluctant convert in all England." Through Max McLean's detailed and masterful performance, Lewis' story of grief, loss and redemption comes to life on screen in his own magnificent words. Filmed in and around Oxford, England, featuring Nicholas Ralph (All Creatures Great and Small) and directed by double BAFTA winner Norman Stone (BBC's Shadowlands). Review Very well-written and acted. Two Thumbs up! --Philip YanceyMcLean's masterly performance brings me vividly back when I attended C.S. Lewis' final lectures! --Dr. John LennoxMax McLean brought Jack Lewis vividly to life! We were moved to tears! --Tim & Kathy Keller

Surprising production
Good movie but I found it difficult to click into for a while. I found the jumping from present to past hard to follow. I need to watch it again!

Lewis in his own words
You would not think that a movie which is largely a monologue, delivered straight to camera, could be so entrancing, but this is. The actor playing CSL is Max McLean, and his tone and delivery are pitch-perfect, not as a kind of cameo of Lewis, but as a credible personalisation of Lewis's words and story. I gather that a great part of the script is taken straight out of 'Surprised by Joy', so we have Lewis own story articulated powerfully. This is a mesmerising production, drawing you into Lewis's spiritual journey, and the transitions between the young and old versions of the man are handled most creatively, at times interacting on the screen. For anyone interested in one of the most significant and influential thinkers and writers of the 20th Century, this film is an absolute must. And for those who enjoy exploring the concepts raised in more depth, there is ample food for thought here.

The most reluctant convert
This is a strangely beautiful film about a most remarkable man Clive Staples Lewis and his journeyfrom dedicated Atheism to Christianity.Viewers of the film may well find themselves being profoundly moved .

Absorbing and enlightening story of C.S. Lewis progression to faith
Nicely done, as a retrospective examination of his writings about his conversion. Of course, this makes the telling seem too brief and not as filled-out as I would prefer, but it means that it is very faithful to his tale. Definitely worth the viewing!
